  1. Howzit,

Got a GTB RevB TT and preparing to swap out the big intake pipe due to perished rubber on primary end (common problem I've heard). Took the IC off today, and there was a reasonable amount of oil inside, mainly around the TB outlet and primary inlet. Quite a bit of dirty oily muck all over the PVC piping leading into the intake pipe and primary end of the main intake pipe too. Wheres it coming from and what can I do about it?

I heard that the oil collects in the primary intake end of the intake pipe, and perishes the rubber over time, which is exactly what I have. Seems feasible.

    Cheers for the help!

Pretty common, wouldn't really worry about it all that much if its not dripping out or too excessive. Its just from the engine oil breather venting into the pre turbo intake pipe then being pushed up into the intercooler.

Just go back to court and say I have this ruling and they haven't paid me. Make it the bailiff's problem. Any additional costs just get added to the amount due; the courts take a very dim view of people just dodging their rulings.

If they're on the benefit you can even get an "attachment" where you get paid directly before they even receive the money; when they're a deadbeat that really stings, especially if you can get an aggressive payment schedule going on.

Leads to fun stuff where they rip someone off so they can pay their court-ordered dues (happened on here once) and nek minnit they're going to jail, it's a fun process dealing to s***bags.
Thanks to the power of Instagram I've actually found where she works, so I'll be adding an attachment order to her pay once this whole lockdown thing is done with

Nah but that's irrelevant (to me at least).

An email with the tribunal ruling is all you really need to do. Then supply your bank account number and watch the money trickle in (simplified summary :D)

Sounds like a plan! As long as they can find her

  4. Once I get court rulings I just send all my s***e to a debt collector and let them deal with it. The firm I use only charges me if they collect so I don't have to worry about it.
Don't suppose they're around the bay of plenty area?

  5. So, I'm curious but did you end up getting a resolution?
In the end she was told she owes me $3350 and she has done a runner, I'm at the point where its really worn me out and I don't know whether its worth continuing to fight for it, its been months now and nothing

  6. Fit a vf30 as a replacement to the old blown vf24, changed TPS due to a dead spot in the revs, fit the exhaust and took it for a drive around the yard at work. Now to figure out the boost controller issue (just running wastegate pressure so power is very linear) maybe put a fuel pump in it any suggestions on  pumps? and take it for a wheel alignment then stick it in the shed to wait for a tune

  7. Solid effort dude. get that tmic and maf plumbed and it will run fine until a tune can be done
Got the top mount on today, fixed vac issues, found why it was miss firing, turns out the cam sprockets are different between rev b and d so swapped them, re sort timing, got it running mint. Gave it a rev and smoke everywhere. Turbo doesnt sound good either so that's just another thing I have to replace, fml. It's actually so bad that apart from the exhaust being off it's the only thing preventing me driving it home. Have sorted a VF30 and better top mount just need the funds.

  8. God, where do i start? Tuesday finished work at lunch, parked the car in the empty bay at work and tore the entire front end of the B4 apart, engine, gearbox, front subframe, arms, everything, all out. It took all Wednesday and Thursday swapping over whatever i needed from the Rev D motor to my Rev B motor from my old Legacy while also doing an ST conversion. Worked Friday so no work done on car. Saturday was 2 trips to Te Puke (Roughy an hour from me) to visit Jeremy from Subiedoo Spares to get bits. got the new front subframe all put back together and put engine and gearbox onto it. This morning slid the drivetrain under and lifted into place. fit everything. fit rev D intake and basically got the car running. Runs pretty badly because the top mount isnt on i havent sorted a couple vac lines but runs. Found everything different between the rev B and D bolt ons.

Honestly didn't realise how much was actually different between the two engines and if i didnt have some parts already as well as the motor that came out to steal hoses and sensors from this wouldn't have been possible. @A_J_T I cant thank you enough. You've been great dealing with my random texts to explain the ST swap to me. I definitely owe you a beer. Car currently only has a down pipe on and sounds absolutely vicious but cant go on the road till the exhaust, top mount and brakes are sorted so at work it stays.

10/10 would not recommend with the time constraints i had and the fact that work had to be delayed on the car because i couldn't get some parts due to public holidays. However 10/10 would do again. It was fun.

  9. Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a right pos that needs a visit from your "mates" when you locate her.
I thought about doing that nut decided to take the high road. Nothing ever gets sorted by doing that but it also seems nothing gets sorted doing it the right way

  10. Any updates on this? Did you get your money, or have their arse hauled to jail?
Right, so. Not really. Didnt get any money, has to go back to court for a financial assessment however shes moved and hasn't provided an address so until I provide an address the court cant summon her. So at this moment it looks like I'm not going to get anything. You can apply to the court and a couple other places to try and disclose their new address but that's only if they've changed their address officially. It's also more money to do so

  11. Fit a new fuel filter today in the BE5, since I snapped the pump carrier last night and just got a new one . Seems to have helped with the fuel pressure a little bit. However when I took it around the block to see if it will boost it started cutting, then there was a small bang. Got home and as I pulled in the driveway there was a slight ticking sound. Looked underneath and theres oil on the up pipe. Up pipe has also snapped but with how much oil was flowing. Looks like new motor time fml

  12. Wait, hang on. You say they've been ordered to pay, ordered by whom?

If you already have an order from some sort of court/tribunal/blah, just go to your local district court and get them to enforce it. They'll probably start by sending a letter or two, followed by a bailiff if money doesn't start flowing again.

Ordered to pay by the disputes tribunal. I have already printed out an enforcement order application just need to fill it out and send it in but figured I'd talk to my uncle about it first (partner at a law firm). I'll be going and seeing him this weekend hopefully so I'll let you all know what he says

  13. Who has been and why? Ive recently been through the system to get payment for my old Legacy that someone rolled. The amount theyve been ordered to pay isnt all that big however they are now refusing to pay and have started threatening me. How did you all get your payment when they refused?

@McMatty There was an option to remove the belts and get it classed as a two seater.
I did that to a hatchback when I half caged it. LVVTA sorted it all out for me so maybe call your nearest one.

Went and checked this out. The boss man at my local VTNZ said that because its a sedan it cant be reclassified as a 2 seater. Have an update though. I got in contact with a local rust repairer and he said he can fix it for me and do it properly. So today i stripped all the rear seats and parcel tray out ready for him to work his magic on Monday. If anyone has any other BE5 interior that isn't that hideous blue and black leather, lemme know

  15. Damn that is a bummer. How much material has been cut out? At least you know you have a very thorough wof inspector.

Today I painted the side trim pieces on my GC8 which were peeling to the chrome underneath like they all do. Also painted the crappy faded wiper arms while I was at it. Car looks much less old and weathered now!
Not sure, will actually go measure it tomorrow. Has to be 150mm away from the mount. Just looks hacked to pieces and it will need certifying if I weld in a plate.

  16. Single Turbo it.
That's the plan, but for now I've got to get it a warrant so I can daily it while the falcon is getting fixed. Going to rebuild my rev b motor and slap that in at the same time too

  17. Right, so I've bought another legacy (number 5) but this time I bought a rev d one! Anyway, I'm getting code P1241 for the ECV, anyone know where to start looking? Car gets no boost at all till secondary and even then it's only got boost for maybe 200rpm them boost cuts. Any ideas?

  18. Any generation 4 cyl will work with a Rev-D because it is tunable. Rev-B will work great as the compression ratio is slightly lower than Rev-D 8.5:1 rather than 9:1. Makes it easier to tune on our trash fuel imo.. and your engine has already proven it likes to make power so pairing it with a Rev-D ECU and a tune would be ideal
Someone find me a rev d body! my block is at almost 270km so suppose itll need a freshen up

Ahh man well done on salvaging what you can. Whatever happened to that Rev-A? BE5 you had? I think now is a good time to pickup a Rev-D rolling body with ECU.  Plop in your powertrain and single T it. I'm tempted to offer you my "Currently" rolling body BE5-D
Had to scrap it because I had to move house. Currently looking for a rev c sedan body because I dont know if my rev b drivetrain will work properly with the rev d. But hey, open to be corrected haha
