  1. Spotted member thread. http://imgur.com/JowzEhg Nice wheels @RAYDEO?
  2. well a few things, my rear wheels dont have camber adjustment (I think) and would wear rear tyres unevenly and possibly be worse for handling as its quite low (therefore more negative camber and anything above 1-2 degrees is too much). I already have a good set of struts/springs anyway and also what you said about proof of the work weather is was done properly. lastly $350 saved is $350 towards a better car
  3. Didnt end up buying em... somehow an 'engineering explained' video put me off... he is such a kill-joy
  4. Yea I love it, external gates sound awesome
  5. haha, even cheaper, you can remove your wheels each time you leave the car
  6. Taking a further look at these, they look quite low but dont scrape and they are somewhat new. Even if they make my car worse, I would have learnt a lot plus I still have the stock set as well as a wrx strut and sti spring set If I need to change back. I want to see for myself what something like this will do to handling and also the look of the car. Furthering my education... plus modifying cars is fun http://www.trademe.co.nz/browse/listing.aspx?id=1262803876 Still haven't decided yet tho
  7. I just found out GH is the WRX and GR is the Sti so it is wrx stuff which definitely does fit. Im not sure if STI stuff fits, some stuff does but dunno about Struts.
  8. yes but I want it a bit lower and tbh, there was a small drop in the back and only a small handling increase. I dont think they were the good pinks, they were not the progressive springs (I think thats what its called) where the spring starts off tightly coiled then becomes more loose with big gaps which is for comfort and good cornering.
  9. $400-500??? what the F***. Springs it is...
  10. What does a cert cost and who can do it?
  11. Im thinking of lowering my car and I have a few thing I would like to get your opinion on (I have virtually no suspension experience ) First of all I dont want it too low where it rubs or anything like that so would these be too low? (those wheels might be 18inch so would there be more gap with my 17 inch wheels?) - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/suspension/auction-1262803876.htm These are adjustable which is cool but should I go full coilover or just stick with a lowering spring? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/suspension/auction-1261066543.htm Would you recommend any of these? if not what would you recommend me getting? I prefer to go second hand as its cheaper and I will not have the car for too much longer.
  12. Actually now I think of it, I have one of those but I hate having a GPS on the window when I dont need one
  13. Happends bro... I recently got 2 tickets by the same camera for 61 and 62kms.. I dont know of an app for NZ roads but that could be handy especially if you travel around. I suppose the greedy governments wallet would rather there wasn't an app... lol
  14. I just left it, im my car the hole is before the filter so its fine.
  15. I have done on my car but only for a nicer noise, haven't noticed any power change. like willisnz says, without a tune you wont get more power, I think this is the same as if you add an exhaust/intake etc. I would just take it off and see if you like the noise or not, its pretty easy to do (on my car anyway)
  16. Yea that makes sense, Im keen to see how much it effects handling. Im also getting a alignment coz I put the struts in and I didnt really think about the camber untill the old struts were already out so I had to guess the camber fail, even with screwed alignment and bald tyres the handling is still decent lol, not in the wet tho .
  17. lol ill keep that in mind , I will like the grip improvement tho
  18. Sounds good. Yep tyres are very important. Im getting new Bridgestone re003's on mine which is a lot for how slow the car is although Im modifying my car to handle really well rather than be quick and just the addition of wrx struts, sti springs and sti rear sway bar has made a huge difference by cutting out some annoying understeer and it feels more stiff and cornerie
  19. Im going from a 205/50/R17 to a 225/45/R17 (because its cheaper), This means its wider and still similar rolling radius, will this effect handling at all with the added surface area?
  20. If it was me, I would chose a legacy.
