So got a quote from Nelson Subaru to install blanking plates and they would arrange PBMS to remotley delete the pump codes off the ecu the quote is $1566.30 + GST is this the best route to go down? dont have any Idea or time to do it myself...

Nope just one when you boost it you will/should see the primary boost up and then drop off as it changes over to the secondary then the secondary should boost up

Correct Normal PSI should be 14.5psi on primary secondary should be around 10-12psi

I can be hard to tell sometimes but once you have a gauge installed if its only doing half the boost which would be about 7 or 8 psi on primary then that is one indication

Sounds to me like it might be in limp mode, do you run it on 98 octane? that rattle you mention could be it detonating/pinging which unfortunately these cars are known for as mine did it a lot until 98 was available where I live, although even on 98 they can ping... Do you know what boost it is reading? PSI or BAR?

My 07 Legacy GT has just thrown a Cel so took it to Subaru Nelson and they pulled P1410 & P2433 which is Secondary Air Combi Valve Open Seized (P1410) and Secondary Air Injection System Pressure (High) (P2433) What is the best option here? get them to but in blanking plates? car is in limp mode too so not wanting to drive it.... I also dont really understand this air pump system so dont really want to mess with it myself... Where would I get some plates from in NZ?

So after searching online I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and pumping the brakes, after that the boost was back!!! Any ideas why the boost went down in the first place?

Hmm yeah well when I removed the sensor it was filthy, no I havent unfortunately, it's both sluggish and low on boost, hmm ok how do I go about resetting it on an 07 legacy?

So last night i changed out my factory air filter for a K&N Panel Filter in my 2007 Legacy GT went for a drive afterwards and shortly into the drive i noticed the boost was cut back to 0.5bar instead of its usual 1.0bar I checked all hoses etc and everything is ok my only conclusion is the air flow sensor was on the way out and the new filter put oil onto it.. I tried cleaning the sensor etc but no luck, car didnt throw any Cel im guessing i need a new sensor? Looks to have never been cleaned or changed since new and car has just done 106,000kms Any ideas?
