Checked mine and GRB is on the list to be done. so nz website didn't list it but is on Japanese one so time to go get a bunch of rattles put into the dash. also my translation is different but it's all about that note. [Caution for car not yet implemented] Although you can update the car inspection, please contact the nearest dealer as soon as possible to repair it.
-
I just went there and it's now the Apache default page, oops it's broken. note "not implemented" says it all. the already carried maybe the notification public or owner, not the repair.

Wow that's slow. later model stock twinscroll hits ~22psi at 3500rpm, ok so it's down to 20psi by 5500rpm but still that's over 200wkw for 2500rpm. It's 160wkw at that 3500 rpm mark so it feels quick.

Nope they are the bronze ones I got, just two way as lazy and tweeters are metal so fine down low in door. There was good room to fit them and clear the window. no pix but just cut cone out at top cut the magnet mount to frame thin braces next to frame See if new speaker sits flat, likely not. cut or snap with long nose pliers the inner wall of the original frame down about a cm at top bottom and sides test new speaker sits flat, likely it will now screw new speaker to frame. Depend on what the frame is like, half I had to drill holes the others the screws just fitted between the two walls to the speaker frame. I installed foam under the speaker to seal it to the frame, comes with infinity ones in the box. i also wrapped the outside in foam that stuck up 2cm past the top so it seals to the inner door skin for more bass. But they brought a sub because it was so cheap. Do the rears first if you are worried. pull the frames and have a look at them to work it out. bit daunting to cut up the originals but it's not like it's a big deal to get replacements as they re similar for many models. also get the speaker to subaru adapters that I listed somewhere, cost $15 for 4 shipped from Christchurch place so zero cutting of wiring either.

I think I got it free when I got my last set from the bridgestone dealer. The free puncher repair is good too. ive had two tyres have the sidewall get damaged and both times had warranty replacements. Its ok when they have the buy 3 get 1 free deal, but if it's a forced time to buy them the savings at say herb Morgan or an other unbranded dealer is too good to pass up.

Guessing it's going to be a mess.

I got infinity 6.5" reference. You just hack up the factory speakers to make mounts. Takes about ten minutes per speaker.
-
It's not that's important now it's just it's part of the WOF check now so it's news. So few cars have had the replacement, either as owner didn't bother or were never contacted. Also to be honest the recall changed and different countries had different models listed, USA had GRB chassis on the list once when I checked, nz one didn't. Guess find out next WOF check if you fail.

Overalls are like $25 there was a topic about cheap helmets last month, think it was in someone build thread after it went a bit off topic. Think it was chicane tha had the cheapest. guess I better get sorted and get harnesses fitted so I can turn up.

GRB makes 220wkw easy with down pipe alone so you don't need a big turbo for that power. it will drop to 17psi up top but it's not bad power from 2L that's stock. can make 208wkw at only 14psi as there is little heat soak but that's way further up the rev range. heati is your biggest enemy so just a big top mount will get you a long way.

Can't compress water which is why the funnel doesn't work. but your taking extremely short time frames "freewheeling" between pulses and like sound waves are just compression waves. but the pulse thing is why twin scroll exists, I'm sure there is a YouTube video of that side that involves a pinwheel. also what's the octane on American fuel there maybe a difference there too. Is there compression difference in the USDM model compared to what we have here?
-
Stock location turbo on a USDM doesn't have the brake booster etc in its way does it? Wouldn't that give them heaps more room to fit a big arse (ass in American) turbo. as for your theory on high back pressure since the pairs of heads are out of phase the high in one is the low in the other. so won't the pressure not back flow into the cylinder but rather equal out into the other header where the valve is closed and there is less gas. F***ed if I explained that well, most likely not. twin scroll is about having multiple pulses of gas combine to create higher pressure, kind of like resonance you get more rpm from the turbo from less gas. In the low pressure phase the turbo is happily freewheeling.

Ray hasslier in city is amazing but mainly do euros. Got them to do a Suzuki for me a couple of years ago. -
Facelift so usually just bumpers and trim. suspension changed, dampers and spring rates, plus front lower rear bush is not S*** rubber. Poor tuning is the most likely cause of issues with the 2L and I'd get the baffled sump just in case. think Pbms change the oil passages a bit of full builds to offer increased protection to the bearings. that or down pipe and or intake mods without a tune. Runs lean and over boosts without a check engine light coming on most of the time. I think it's 24psi you get the over boost waste gate control failure code.

Don't worry about tweeters they aren't exactly good from factory, just get some two way 6 or 6.5 and gut the factory speakers keeping the frame. Then just screw the new speakers on to the top of the frame so it sits in the correct place and the factory frame to door doesn't need changing. i just used side cutters and a knife. Took about 10 mins pre speaker to get a good fit.

Pitch stop rod upgrade not pointless, but it is noisy!

Would be great wearing a helmet and racing but all day in traffic it's not so great. -

@Loren yeah surprised how bad, but it's basically making the fire wall a speaker cone. -
Too many home and Internet tuners as well since they are popular so get the rom checked to see if "tuned" then maybe get a dyno run with wideband. 2L block is thick walled, looks about 12mm and braced well in the sti. Gearboxes are about 4K secondhand, center diff alone costs that new. they all get noisy gearbox bearings that are $1000 for the part and custom to subaru, not that they fail just get noisy. just get a warranty if you are worried for the $1200 ish for 3 years it's worth it. Less than the tyres for the same period.

Key word 'through', air around the radiator is like a subwoofer without a box, make plastic meal trays are easy to use for mock up and testing the curved edge help them stay ridged. Where you get them well
-
@Loren if you have gaps you'd be shocked at how much air will be bypassing the radiator. Without a high pressure in front and low pressure behind there's very little flow without fans. you may just have to small a radiator in the end but try to fill as much of the gap as you can.

Is the circuit board inside the amp labeled?

Factory thin ones split if you over tighten them to many times. Aftermarket thicker ones need more effort to destroy. you want them tight but not cutting the silicone tight. Ie just use a screw driver with comfortable grip, not to the point you are trying to crush the handle. -
Wouldn't it be worse if the breathers where fed to the intake and the vacuum would keep the oil in the heads? if the crankcase isn't under the same or more vacuum the the oil wouldn't be returning as fast.
