  1. The RS runs 2 right hand rails each with a FPR. I need to drop the FPR on the drivers side to create a bit of space (about 15mm) for a turbo that's been rotated 180 degrees. Will just use a left hand rail with no FPR Any problems running only 1x FPR........and on the passengers side? I know factory they only come with 1 FPR anyway but it's usually on the drivers side............does it matter that the FPR will be on passenger side?
  2. really sorry to hear that bro........

    FMIC??

You'll prolly get some variation between VTNZ stations and individual certifiers around the interpretation of the rules for cutting I'm going to fmic on my 89 rs leggy and the certifier said I would be ok if I did any cutting because it's pre 1996....and the frontal impact regs aren't applied so harshly to pre 1996 models. I don't have a lot of cutting to do anyway just into the insides of the metal shrouding around the headlights If you have a car that's post 1996, I'd get some advice from your certifier before u do any cutting.
  4. abomination.........a fine example of how not to put a car together and to top it off..................it's auto I'll bet someone on here thinks it's the shiz ;D...............there's always 1
  5. Good s h i t crunchy will have a read of that stuff
  6. Doin some maintenance on the ole leggy this weekend.......got a rear inner cv boot to change do I need to disconnect the rear sway bar before trolley jacking car up?.....easier?............not necessary?
  7. yep I had this prob..drove me frakn nutz.....had the damn discs skimmed and wheel alignment done b4 i found out what it was....farked caliper
  8. after reading a thread on here somewhere (can't find it now) and doing some googling.......i got hold of a set of whiteline rear subframe locking bolts. The instructions say.....'the hardware is designed to be installed and removed in between races' It also says that the.. 'bolts should not be in for extended periods as it may lead to premature chasis wear' This was all a surprise to me because none of the threads I read talked about this......... So.........is anyone running the locking bolts full time? Have you noticed any adverse affects?
  9. I'm looking for a thread i was reading maybe 1-2 weeks ago........did a search but can't find the damn thing. It was about rear sub frame locking bolts......I have some info I wana post up. If any1 knows where it is can u flick it to me?..cheers
  10. I've noticed a few engines running the 25-30mm mini breather filters straight off the idle air control, crankcase breather outlet, and rocker cover breather outlets............seems to get rid of quite a bit of the factory breather piping Im just assuming this causes no issues with idling or engine breathing in general. If you know of any reason not to do it .........can u post up cause i'm looking to do this and lose sum of that factory breather tubing in the process.....cheers
  11. I'll be rebushing rear control arms and trailing arms with noltec ones soon. I'll let u know how they feel.
  12. Here's some hard data regarding WAIC vs FMIC on a Legacy/LIberty. http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=45165&highlight=WAIC Should answer anything you may want to know. cheers BC interesting read
  13. yep that sounds about right - its not going to be perfect but it will be close enough. I have never bothered to check intercooler efficiency i have only worried about the differencial over ambient. In the end thats all that matters power wise. sweet.........yeah I want some comparative data on waics vs fmic that's why I'm interested in the overall temp drop between the 2
  14. yeah I'd be interested in getting one just to do these tests
  15. cheers for that.......yes I'm after hard data here. i want to measure temps before and after the waic so i can see the overall temp drop. Will this work.........I'll position the sensor just after the turbo outlet (because i want to record temps b4 they go into the waic) do a few hard runs & log the data........... Then I'll change the sensor position to just before the throttle body inlet and do a few hard runs again That should give me temps before and after the waic ...........and I'll be able to estimate the overall temp drop the waic is giving me from the data. Once I switch to my fmic setup I'll run the tests again and compare the data............should be interesting. somebody must have done this b4 surely?
  16. how do I measure inlet temps? I did a search..........lots of talk about inlet temps but no decription of how to. I want to measure the inlet temps of my waic during sum hard runs. What's easiest/cost effective way to do this and what equipment do I need?
  17. yes go nolathane or whiteline that will tighten things up nicely. Just make sure u grease pack them well like the others said. you may 'feel the road' a little more with aftermarket bushes
  18. nice work great to see another tidy BC5.......looks good.
  19. they are addictive ;D...........bumper and interior will tidy up...........keep chipping away at it
  20. was the filter at the turbo end or engine end?..........guess it's in the same place for a BC5?
  21. Looks quite tidy........good onya for stickin with BC5
  22. What boost were u running b4 u installed the boost tap?......at 14 psi u might be getting close to factory fuel/boost cut threshold. R u running standard ecu?.........if you turn the boost down to say 13psi or 12 psi.....do u still get the same prob?
  23. it's a bit of a mish bro but have a read up and try a few times.........you'll get it
  24. I want Cadbury's chocolate after lookin' at that ;D
