'89 RS leggy........ok appreciate any help on this one. I have noticed prolly in the last 6 weeks that I get shuddering in the front ......firstly noticeable on taking off in first gear as the clutch engages......and then even more apparent under braking......not too hard braking but definitely shuddering and vibration in the whole front end. If it was coming from any particular side I would say passenger side. After fitting a rear sway bar last weekend I took it for a good blat in the hills. Some heavy braking and tight cornering later.......I came down on to the flat and started working up to 100ks. As I braked, the shuddering from the front was quite violent so I eased off the brakes but still noticed it was vibrating.....felt almost like the tyre had a bump in it.....but it doesn't. I thought I might have warped my discs so I got them skimmed put them back on and went for a light cruise..........still have the same prob. It's been suggested my wheel alignment could be out and that is a possibility so I will look at getting this done too........process of elimination I guess. When I had the discs off I checked the steering arms etc couldn't see anything out of the ordinary but I did notice the ball joint on the passenger side lower arm had split the rubber cover quite badly and grease had been oozing out. Could this be the source of my problems? Do these joints (ball joints?) fark out like CVs and need replacing and repacking with grease? Should I spend $$ getn the wheel alignment done in the hope that it's just that.....or tackle the lower arm ball joint thing.....then do the alignment? Any1 else had similar prob? Any advice would be great...cheers :-) ........and here's some pics for ya

I have BC5 gen1.......you've driven it :-) I would love to have a BC5 meet in Welly.......don't leave me out!! As for pods.......I run mine under the front guard..............it's just one big cold air box under there! .....lol

where bouts are u? I'm runin king lows over factory shocks gives it a nice profile and ride not too low and hard

can someone in welly area show me how to do this? I need to change driver's side. I know there are threads on how to do this.........but I prefer the hands on approach alongside someone that knows what they're doing! Is this a big job? well it wasn't that long ago I posted a prob I had with coolant leak.......that turned out to be split plastic side tank...so replaced that and prob fixed. Well....another coolant leak later and I'm scratchin my head again tryn to figure out where this one is coming from. So I'm double checking the header tank to turbo hose and at the turbo end I noticed its kinda distorted and looked like it had a bubble in it. Hey subie boy........i found some alloy radiators on TM http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=211553609 but he didn't have any listed for BC5 series. I pm'd him and he said they don't make them for that model. Can you point me in the right direction of someone you definitely knows makes and stocks them cheers :-) Oh I've also got to be able to bolt my fans onto them too so there's that as well

after noticing a coolant leak dripping from bottom of engine on the front passenger side........i got to work tracking it down..........couldn't find the frakn thing for the best part of a day.....just couldn't find the damn thing. There was coolant splatter all over the front of the battery and it had even worked its way to the steering arms and wheel arch. After a short trip to repco i decided to see if i could see anything.......popped the bonnet and was looking down the side of the radiator when a very fine spray of mist shot out the side of the radiator...........pure fluke. On the blower to a mate who had one and a few hours later all fixed. when u turn the key on.......b4 the engine starts........the pump should fire up and u will hear a slight hum if you go round and listen near the guard. The other thing to do is turn the key on......take the cap off the intercooler and if the pump is working u will see turbulence in the coolant as it's getting cycled around by the pump

why V7 rods bro?

V6 STI RA rods are forged or cast?.......will they bolt up to my 89 RS leggy crank and V3 sti pistons?

i have V1 version 3686 I think. I've reprogrammed to enable K band but frak me it's going off all the time and bloody annoying! Think its picking up every electronic roller and sliding door within a K!

yep the new cams in vans don't seem to set my V1 off. I think I will need to enable K band.

has any1 had this done or know of the pros and cons of shot peining rods?
