  1. Thanks! Another source and agency I will get confirmation with... Seems it might not become a reality but let's see.
  2. This is for auto transmissions only. YOu do get kits for manuals but you then need to wire in neutral switches etc but in general its not recommended due to safety issues. AA legal has confirmed its not against WOF regs. I will try and make contact with NZTA as well to get another opinion
  3. So then all modern cars current in NZ with remote and keyless FOB's should be exported as they illegal?
  4. Is the aircon running? what is the ambient temp outside?
  5. mm, googled but cant seem to find anything that its illegal? Will do some more research and contact the AA as well. Out of interest why would it be illegal?
  6. Right, next big ticket item (and it's an auto so don't worry about a manual car running away) is a remote start/keyless entry for my GT. I searched on the forum but not much info except for OEM. I found some brands....has anyone done something and can recommend a brand? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Compustar-Car-Auto-Remote-Start-Starter-w-Keyless-Entry-Bypass-Module-Bundle/312331604999?epid=1642395152&hash=item48b86a1407:g:QQsAAOSw6jJb9aQI:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true https://www.carid.com/2006-subaru-legacy-remote-start/ The guys in the states seem to talk about Compustar quite a bit
  7. ok so research reveals its the standard Subaru parts but lsited for 2011-2014 modules? Subaru part # 26226XA04 or also knows as part #26296AJ010 it seems https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru__/49235199__6024724/FRONT-BRAKE/W10-262-01.html Now to find the replacement for them
  8. So.....Went to Repco, got the BNT DB 1491, DB1803CP and DB1379CP. - Lady says I can return the size I don't use. All round the brakes were fine, so need to find what else might be causing the noise that sounds like metal on metal when I sometimes brake. BUT interesting, the rear pads are the DB 1379 - they fit, BUT the fronts are not DB1491....See photo below. I'll take this to repco so they can run the codes as well, but did someone upgrade the stock calipers?
  9. Thanks! And by set, I assume you mean 4 pads, 2 for each front wheel, just to clarify. mmm, I need to drive there so taking sample might be tricky
  10. posting here as well as it seems this gets more eyes Unexpected maintenance for this weekend - sounds like my pads need to be replaced. Thinking of doing all 4 wheels at the same time. This will be on the budget for now until I have funds to replace with nicer hubs and pads. Anyone know of a combo deal floating around where I can buy a full set for all 4 wheels? According to supercheap these would fit but its labeled trailer pads? https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/trojan-trojan-trailer-brake-pad-kit---hydraulic-standard-4-piece/339097.html
  11. Have mailed Manfeild for a list of their first half 2019 events as its not listed don their website yet
  12. following - how would one know if your Sub is compatible to upgrade to CC?
  13. I think i have to agree that the Aux input should work. For the antenna connection, you might need to just buy an adaptor to increase/decrease the input. (NOT this one but something similiar : https://www.wavetech.co.nz/AATOY1R/ - maybe contact wavetech and ask them to test fit in store) From recently installing my unit this weekend and from my notes i can share this for the 12V: FM Antenna Booster Amplifier Pin layout - http://ae64.com/Legacy-pinout.htm
  14. following next time I might join - and when my son is reunited with me in NZ he will definitely come with

  16. I can confirm my low beams are currently HID and got wof before I bought it. When I take it headlights out I will confirm what kind of fitting it is Its supper weird though with all the other colors in between... Will take a pick a post it shortly
  17. Yes, LEDs only for the normal incandescent sockets (map doors, brakes, reverse etc) but HID for the headlights Thanks for the TapTurn recommendation...took a 100km drive today and really missed the single flick to get 3 ticks
  18. Ordered some more toys for the car, Most LED's HID's
  19. Have you tested at the switches if there is power?
  20. True...I like to do to clean installations. Question, did you have to modify the adaptors and did it come with the units? That's the one thing I haven't ordered...I also need to see to find the steering wheel controls and wire those back in as they currently not working with the Pioneer
  21. Ooo man...see I got some work then this weekend.... Just ordered a replacement unit as well for my pioneer carrozzeria - and its also full house, wiring going everywhere, GPS antenna's, speakers, microphone and some funny odd job thing under the steering column. One thing, is the GPS antenna's universal? really dont want to pull all that wiring out and off the windscreen? Here is my unit that needs to come out and then the replacement unit ordered
  22. HI Guys So I was planning to go the wetsand route (600,800,2000) then clearcoat it and wax it. Now i saw this video : Did anyone try it? comments? what would last longer and be better for the headlights?
