well i did go nuts with it, and didn't realize the smell today after two long drives, so i reckon she did the trick beautifully.
man that'd be a mish and a half to get the whole engine bay clean tho!
I looked at what the Subaru maintenance guide says about them, but it just had 'inspect' every so often (cant remember the interval, but was semi regularly)
i searched around, but there doesn't seem to be much on the replacement of these?
How often would they normally be replaced?
Im interested because some claim it helped to smoothen out there acceleration/ stop the annoying surge, that i sometimes get in 1st gear.
Cheers Guys!
dont mean to thread steal haha
but on the topic.
i need to degrease my turbo housing area due to spilt trans fluid, is it safe to go nuts with degreaser and then a hose around that area? dont actually know where the remaining fluid is that wont burn off, so kinda need to go nuts with it.
Cheers!
why is that? if the oil pump did all a sudden fail (as some blame this for BEB), surely the engine would survive for more than a second without fresh oil lubin her up? enough time to turn it off and avoid huge damages?
i dont want to start the whole BEB thing again, i've read all that.
But are these engine failures generally a kilometer thing or more of a 'thrashed' thing?
e.g say if a wrx was driven real nice its whole life, does it still stand a chance of BEB failure when in the 'high' kms bracket? Or does the 'thrashed' factor play a bigger role than kms?
fingers crossed that Japanese boy racers aren't into daily helies and launches haha.
Itd be so nice to buy a brand new car! no 150,000kms of unknown treatment
