  2. where is that store? never heard of it
  3. sweet might as well go geniune then i guess. Thanks guys!!
  4. haha alright, we are now on the same wavelength. Shot. So does anyone know the price of these filters (inside engine bay, 50,000km one)
  5. yup thats what i have. So can you or can you not buy these by themselves?
  6. haha man im confused so what bit were you talking about at first that should be replaced every 50,000kms?
  7. thats ridiculous? so your meant to replace that filter above every 50,000 kms but you cant even buy it individually??
  8. really? i thought i read somewhere they're $80 from wingers? but you can use non subaru ones if you want ~$30?
  9. well i did go nuts with it, and didn't realize the smell today after two long drives, so i reckon she did the trick beautifully. man that'd be a mish and a half to get the whole engine bay clean tho!
  10. I looked at what the Subaru maintenance guide says about them, but it just had 'inspect' every so often (cant remember the interval, but was semi regularly) i searched around, but there doesn't seem to be much on the replacement of these? How often would they normally be replaced? Im interested because some claim it helped to smoothen out there acceleration/ stop the annoying surge, that i sometimes get in 1st gear. Cheers Guys!
  11. dont mean to thread steal haha but on the topic. i need to degrease my turbo housing area due to spilt trans fluid, is it safe to go nuts with degreaser and then a hose around that area? dont actually know where the remaining fluid is that wont burn off, so kinda need to go nuts with it. Cheers!
  12. why is that? if the oil pump did all a sudden fail (as some blame this for BEB), surely the engine would survive for more than a second without fresh oil lubin her up? enough time to turn it off and avoid huge damages?
  13. gotta keep my eyes glued to the oil pressure gauge haha
  14. are they installing a graphic equalizer in order to tune? i've never heard of car audio 'tuning' as such.
  15. this is with auto club, NAC was 2.3K!
  16. i dont want to start the whole BEB thing again, i've read all that. But are these engine failures generally a kilometer thing or more of a 'thrashed' thing? e.g say if a wrx was driven real nice its whole life, does it still stand a chance of BEB failure when in the 'high' kms bracket? Or does the 'thrashed' factor play a bigger role than kms?
  17. thats the most reading ive done in ages! worth it, he got served! beautiful use of the law there
  18. what makes the version 3/4 so much more 'prone' to failure??
  19. how old are you, if u dont mind me asking? coz i pay 1.8k with nac, for stock sti, valued at 10k with not a single conviction :-\ :'(
  20. +1 should wipe off quarter mile time by a good second!
  21. im glad i went with the hybrid then, chuck in the bung and shes silently legal in like 2 secs. solid.
  22. fingers crossed that Japanese boy racers aren't into daily helies and launches haha. Itd be so nice to buy a brand new car! no 150,000kms of unknown treatment
  23. how much better does the newer 2.5L out perform the 2.0L in handling power on stock internals?
