  1. Iv had dodgier experiences changing songs on my iPod and driving (especially when its done through my head unit...haha) than i have had texting and driving. But iv had even worse ones while iv being eating and driving, at crunch time i put more effort into trying to not drop my whopper with cheese than trying to avoid the danger ahead.... At least with texting you can use maybe one hand on the steering wheel.... hahahaha
  2. To me a GTB is a cruising car, i dont see the point of making uber amounts of power in one given how comfy they are. If it was me i would put a vf24 on it, it will spoll nice and early and if you are going for 175kW@wheels or less you will be fine. That will give you nice power and make it really lively to cruise along in with the earlier spool time

Just try and find another GC8 RA, they do pop up every now and then. I would rather get a 4 door wrx gc8 than an NA one as you get them for next to nothing, and if you use your brain its not to hard to start removing weight out of them. The only thing that you will wish you had an RA for is that you don't have to scrape under sealing off of it.

Nick, the worst thing about seem welding a car like a retna, is that that instead of having decent amounts of seam welding is that it is held together by adhesive more or less, and you have to get rid of it all before you weld it up more. And getting rid of it makes removing sound deadening seem like fun!!! The firewall in a retna is almost completely glued in, and it is a real c&*t of a job. My personal opinion, is get a 4 door again, parts are easier to find if you have an off. Everyone i know that has tried hurting a coupe ended up hurting their wallets trying to fix it.
  5. I'm running 14.7psi absolute in my RA, runs mint. Absolutely no lag and has a zero spool time. Love it
  6. That video of Kseniya Simonova has Nothing Else Matters by Metallica as the last song played on strings!!! America.. Fu#k YEAH!!!
  7. Agreed, but i think it looks ugly. But thats just me been an arse ;D
  8. Also if there isn't much of a gap between your radiator and engine. Having a small gap means it cant exhaust the hot air fast enough due to the lack of ventilation, which means all of the cool air ends up going around your radiator, not through it as you go faster (which usually means a hotter engine). Having fans going on the radiator in this situation will improve airflow even at high vehicle speeds as it is forcing it to exhaust hot air, which will allow for more fresh air to come through.
  9. The slimline ones do pull more air, but they also only pull it through the area on the radiator that is behind the fan. The only way i would be confident in saying they help the radiator work better, is if you got the biggest diameter slimline fan you possibly could and stuck that on there, atleast you would be using more of the radiator. This is what i did for my fan on the tight gap on the EZ30R: Went to pick-a-part and got an Air Con radiator fan off a STi they had there, they are paper thin and have awesome steel shrouds on them. I then got my slimline fan, which happened to be the same diameter as the fan in the shroud, and fitted it across. Then to make it fit perfectly and look factory, you just grind off the mounts on the shroud and weld them back onto where you want. This will give you awesome flow while using more of the area in the radiator.
  10. Keltic, was that petrol that came out of the mini @ 6:11? Hahaha
  11. Bahahaha, i was thinking the same thing, then a few posts down i get to read it. Hahahaha. Have we meet somewhere before? ;D
  12. My pick is either RDL or Stubaru's, they are both small businesses which means they rely on quality work, not quantity of work. RDL isnt over the top, i would be happier to take my car to a place that has definitely knows their stuff and does proper work, rather than somewhere that only does mundane everyday servicing all the time.
  13. Haha, You had white wheels on it you Muppet. I must admit they looked cool for about half a lap, before they went into their grey colour Why do you think i want black wheels
  14. For mint race pads, Project mu!!! You can get them through RDL in chch if you want some, PM Koom about them
  15. Long story short, Semi-closed deck blocks are cheaper to make than closed deck blocks. I would say it was one of those decissions made by an accountant, not an engineer. If it was me i would always go for a closed deck bottom end if i had a 50/50 choice (eg blew up my old motor and the block got destroyed... nt_a_foz... cough cough). The benefits far outweigh any reason you can think of for not getting one.
  16. If you think that is cool watch this video. Worlds biggest crane heavy lifting company showing off, this is where i want to be in 10 years, working for them!!! That is proper heavy haulage!!!
  17. Thats my trailer!!! ;D Its Jon Kelly from Heavy Haulage Australia. Im in the cab of the 1st truck, "J Cash" If you think that is epic, when we went up the toowomba ranges we had another two kenworths on the front and another one on the back
  18. I hate thieving bastards. If i ever catch anyone been a dirty bastard steeling my stuff this is what il do to them: I'm going to tie them up with cable ties, lasso their ankles with a crusty nylon rope that gives them heaps of rope burn. Tie them to the back of the Terrano and drag them through 100m of blackberry so that the get cut to f#ckery. Then squirt them with a super soaker filled with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  19. ROFL, Im in hysterics. Thats is classic.
  20. Hmmm, i was misinformed, stupid interwebz lied to me
