Well worth doing in my books. Not sure exactly what my splitter is, I got it off a member on here and it bolted straight on but its significantly larger and better directed than the v5 one. Happy to take some photos or show you if your around Hamilton sometime.

Have you done anything to open up the flow of air to the Interooler? I put mine on a v5 and use a bigger under bonnet splitter and my Intake is pretty steady at 1-2 deg higher than ambient while moving. Goes up significantly at idle of course.

Late arriver, haven't read the entire thread but I got my Mrs a 2004 Axela 2.3l, its a very nice little car and goes like a rocket from 0-70 so awesome around town. On the open road its a bit gutless over 100kmh so not a super quick passer but very able. The 2005 onwards got a nicer Auto box apparently for better fuel consumption.

FMIC on, Turbo on, Injectors in, retune and cross fingers for a big number. Got a couple small bits I need but most of the big ticket items are sitting in the shed waiting.

Pretty sure there not v8 gaurds, modified GC8 I think. I cant deal with the panel gaps or the bonnet overbite at the front.

Pretty terrible, doesn't even make the top 10 craziest driving I have seen this month however Saw some absolute asshole in a van full of kids pass a truck on a blind corner near Rotorua on Monday and misseed an oncoming car by feet.

While on the subject should you prefill the oil filter when changing it? Seems to be a bit of contention over this.

To be honest I am not sure. I got it for its boltonness and price. But yeah I think its around that area as the results I am hoping for are in that same ballpark.

Yup, Got almost everything I need, 850cc Injectors, Turbo, FMIC and already got the Link etc. Its all just cooling its heels until mid next year when I can afford to throw the cash needed at it for a result.

I wouldn't recommend, fitted one to my cousins WRX and it was a bit of a nightmare. I have purchased a fenix kit recently, I haven't fitted it yet but it looks the goods and I don't think it was a lot more expensive.

I think so yeah. He also went onto bash CS on NZPC forums and DOBC forums. Got himself banned from both from memory. All because he couldn't handle being told not to be a dick at club meets and a few guys questioned his underwhelming results for $$$ spent.

I have been here a while and his was the best rage quit I can remember. Outstanding stuff.

I agree with the upspec model being the go, our 2.3l is a lot peppier than the 2l I test drove especially about town. Also agree about the MPS, just expect to eat tyres lol. If you shop about you can get a good deal on them now as well. Ours is 130,000 k odd from memory with a couple bumper scrapes and I paid 8.5k when it was listed for 11k.

I got my Mrs. the 2.3l Axela hatch recently. Its a 2004 Auto and it drives very nice, lots of power for a grocery getter and goes well town to town also. The fuel economy is a little average, apparently the 2005 or 2006 auto onwards got an extra gear that makes all the difference to fuel economy town to town.

This one might be super dumb but I had a Ryco Z495 oil filter on my WRX, I looked it up in the book at Supercheap and it listed a Z79X so thats what I put on, it fits with no leaks or anything but should I be concerned I have the wrong filter on? I didnt notice it was a different number until after and now I am racking my brain trying to remember what I normally use because both numbers sound familiar and thinking about it I am pretty sure I have used both in the past...
