Thats a toughie tbh, Mates TT Supra has taken an absolute beating for over 100 thou now (engines got 250 on the clock) and it just takes it day in and day out. But I also heard the Subi powered model would be turbo, and the Toyota variant not. So unless it came with a lexus V8 in it (unlikely) I think I would go with Subi powered.

I am in the top mount club atm. I am very wary of any lag because im not looking to run massive power at any stage (220-240ish KW is my final goal). So I want the power I have to be avalable as early as possible. When I do get a FMIC later in the year I will be flipping the Manifold and intercooler to significantly shorten the piping and lag. I have heard of guys having some real succes with this. I think Tony (ronin) runs this sort of setup and seeing pics of his was when I decided to go FMIC eventualy. Before that I was goign to try a v7 top mount.

I was just looking at that. Also had me thinking I thought I was close coming down that stretch, just goes to show how that extra speed and freedom can really throw you off I guess. It really is just a completly different enviroment.

Purely a looks question, will you be putting anything over your front mount, like some mesh or anything. I duno for some reason a FMIC witohut mesh or something covering it looks half finished to me lol. Taking nothing away from it though dude its a sweet Rex.

+1 on the T1Rs. They do the job for me but as stated wear quite quickly. If your going to drive them hard constantly you need to expect to replace them quicker than some other brands.

But wiil that even make it to production now? Since the way every thing is they mite Just scrap the project just be to much monney? Im really guessing here but wouldnt the design and original fabrication be the expensive part of a new car? Surely if they thought they had a market the hard part financialy is out of the way by the time you hit production? Im hoping they go through with it, I like the shape. I would probably look at buying one of these either new or a year or so into them being out.

Yeah mines a sedan. I had the seat out for sub instill once before, I would guesstimate top and bottom together weigh 20 odd KGs. But is was a while ago and thats a very rough guess. All good anyway, get through the couple of things Ih ave planned and then start looking at a cage

Its only a HXS (correct me if im wrong) not exactly high end of the Subi price spectrum. And considering when I wrote my last WRX off they diddled me down to $6500 (market value apparently) I too am in the surprised there fixing it club.

Im firmly in the get a turbo brigade. Buying a N/A Imprezza to tune as a performance car is like trying to win bathurst in a wheelchair. Yeah you could give it a go but whats the point?

They all crash the same, STI engine just ensures you do a better job of it.

Even if its not in the works yet it has to only be a mtter of time. This is already Law in some states of Aus and I think the U.S. (someone may correct me on that). We seem to be following these countrys initiatives. I wish the powers that be would take on what osme Aussie states have, on your restricted (p plates over there) you cant drive a car with forced induction or a V8. I think that as a law has promise, especialy with the way performance cars are becoming cheaper and cheaper and people are joining the workforce at a younger age. Hell I have a 15 Year old in one of my stores who is on the verge of buying a 94 WRX, this kids going to kill himself. He can barely control his mums charade.

This method worked on my Legacy boot lock, had a nice big magnet off an old sub laying around in the shed, placed on lock and it slid stright out. I didnt have a rain shield (or whatever its called) on the tumbler for some reason though so that may be an issue in this case.

I know I want to, its in the plans ;D Just wanted to clarify where I stood at this point. I guess the weight savings arent huge for taking seats out anyway. They can stay for now.

Just a quick simple question Are you allowed to take seats out of your car and still be at a warantable standard? And also is there a certain length your allowed to go to, e.g. back only, or can you take back and passenger out? I am pretty sure I have seen a lot of guys do this but I want to be sure you dont have to be caged or anything silly like that to legally take the seats out. Cheers Johnny
