  1. that version 5 is wicked as fun!!!! holy crap i will soon have a on .. once i get the bill and you tell me what my options are re headers etc please just pm that to me.. so they all dont laugh
  2. ok ok to end all this madness.... My car never broke a crank... i mean seriously..? ??? just everyone was so keen to know, Jase made me play a little joke... heres the words from rick as to what really happened... Hes def my boi! and yes how my car hasnt eaten it self we dont know.. oh and i was never considering buying his car.. we just decided to tell more lies... ;D
  3. Depending on what i can get for it i might just flog it off, and I may think about piking up Jasons V8 spec C... will see how it pans out. is 27k reasonable, uncaged with the tyres?
  4. ok, so my crank is split in two - everyone happy now.. block is coming out and think il be selling the car off
  5. just did pads all round on mine + new rotors on the front.. we did left rear, right rear, left front, right front in that order... Start from furtherest away from the cylinder. (mines abs) all works lovely jubbly now
  6. think we found the problem.. and im off to buy a lotto ticket... how i didnt have a completely ka-boomied engine is a miracle.
  7. sorry, look in motor and turbo - they talking about it there too. I would go with surbaru genuine. They are close to $20 for the set. Non genuine (nearly) always ends in tears
  8. yup if you taking the turbo off ( hehe) sorry couldnt resist.. For others reading you dont need to take the turbo off to get manifold off however. Swinny just has some minor problems
  9. see your other post. go with standard saving $$ - get these from armstrongs.. they are standard cardboard/fibre can get special heat resisting ones.. but they are well in excess of $200.
  10. there are two little paper/cardboard gaskets under each side of the manifold. (4 bolts each side) Go to armstrongs (see hopai for SI) and they are about $12 for the set. they have nice little holders to line them up making easy to put back on, you will see that when you take it off. You will need to remove periphiral items off the manifold to actually get it right out.... fyi
  11. already done our introductions and overview of where it stands.. Thanks for your earlier PM BC..
  12. need more info. what version do you have? is it a foz or rex? you probably need the orange sticker afm and the same version sti ecu (or aftermarket)
  13. not sure on the legal - but i dont see that it would matter? Just ring mister VTNZ (or whoever) - they will tell you. As for the feel - if you like it like that i would just leave it the way you like it, you are just going to suffer at low speeds/parking etc.. Oh and most likely any very light person or small chicks that drive your car - they wont like heavy steering wheel (Please dont flame me, im not trying to offend, its just usually how it goes when powersteering is broken in a car).
  14. whats the reason for removing.. Why not get the sandwhich plate and just relocate it?
  15. so whos who? Expect corrections - from left viperguy, T.rev, loud_as, Mantis's partner (i think), Yvonne, RheubenH, Al, scOObydOO, funky(me with back to camera)
  16. interesting - i will see how we go on friday, depends whats wrong. also 18psi is alot, nothing mild about that lol, and my block is still standard, not forged or closed etc like yours. I would like to know more about what that worked turbo is before i chose it, that and to see the graphs etc. Maybe they cud work my 23?. Does anyone have details for Steve Murch himself, id rather go direct if possible.
  17. no you have to lift it - it has some pipes that need connecting under it and some other funky pipe work you wont clear with out damanging the new pipe.. ITs real easy to get off, and the new gaskets are cheap as chips and very easy to place. Take 30mins max i guess - its not worth breaking the new pipe. man why you got it out - do a split rail at the same time - easy peazy.
  18. Im just after guesses - before i find out. This is not meant to be a trouble shooting technical thread. just money down for what people think. hmm me thinks maybe yours have mine herpies after pashing - as it ran worse after
  19. If its borked i have plans to be quite different lol sorry. your other one has gone way to far anyway, i would be looking brand spankers at this stage
  20. You know the car, has a few mods and running 18psi - only pulled 160kw, car seems fine to drive though... based on other similar mods and car it should do about 200kw POLL on! oh - and its being diagnosed Friday so I should have some answers by then
  21. lol id like as much as i can get (that fits) for as little as i can pay.. lol txt me today or i will you if your thoughts have changed since yesterday
