  1. Bang on....10 then 14-15psi Took it in to a subaru specialist today (Wingers Subshop, East Tamaki)...more for the knocking noise under hard acceleration. They gave it an upper engine clean and said to ensure it is run on 98...which I have been doing for the last few weeks. But still knocking?? They also checked the air filter (which was fine) and sent me on my way..with it still knocking! They have advised me to change the spark plugs!! What that will do to the knocking.. I don't know! Looks like I will be having a few trips back to the garage before I get this resolved..but they did clarify the boost as 10 / 15psi! I thought they would have taken it straight in and investigated? To me I'm just getting excuse after excuse and no resolution. It's quite clear with the boost issues along with the knocking I've got a problem. Might try another garage...see what they think!!
  2. Any chance someone can post a picture of this pipe in the engine bay? I'll be able to change it no problem...but don't want to make any F##k ups and change the wrong one! How much extra length should I add? Cheers
  3. Ha Ha.... Although in saying that, last night was probably the first time I have had it flat out!! Even with this boost it was good....looking forward to the change! Any idea of the internal diameter of this pipe? I'll pick some up on my way home? I take it this just joins at both ends with a hose clip? Cheers
  4. Should I extend the wastegate hose before I reset the ECU? or will this not make much difference?? Cheers
  5. Got the gauge fitted on Saturday and tonights really the first time I've had a chance to really check the turbo pressures. The primary peaks about 7psi before dipping the secondary then peaks about 8psi? Not much difference really! Anyone got any idea what they should be? I've had a few replies on another thread, but thought I'd start another to get more interest. Ideally I'd like to see a little more in the primary (& secondary)...I'm sure they could cope with a few extra psi without any problem..... I was hoping about 10 then 14? Do u think this is achievable? Would it just be a case of fitting seperate boost taps and adjusting accordingly? Cheers
  6. hmmm i always thought his one was running pretty good for that value .. could be a model as his is a 99 b4... anyway, to reset ecu there is a thread here on the topic - u have to do it by plugging in the green connectors under the dash and stuff.. or meet up one day and will use the diagnostic tool to reset the ecu for u bro Cheers Pappu...   8. Got a boost gauge fitted Saturday (Thanks)...Primary peaks at about 6-7psi ,Secondary about 11psi... Surely the turbos can cope with a little more than that? Think a boost tap will go on!!! Also, could someone post a pic for the hose to the wastegate Qwerty mentioned? Cheers

  15. Well, just put a tin in! (garage told me where to put it)....Done exactly what it said on the tin!! Left it for 10 mins or so then started her up again..... Took it for a run.....and nothing! No black smoke? This might be a good thing, engine may have not had any carbon build up? Anyway, I'll keep an ear out for the noise. Might have just been enough to clear it! Cheers

I've currently got standard B4 mags on my car (pics can be seen on the Trade thread) http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,14561.0.html Been looking for black ones for a swap...but no takers! Was now thinking of getting these painted in Gloss black or Satin Finish....what's your thoughts??? Anyone any good at photoshop (or whaterver it's called)...maybe you could change them for me and send me a pic... Cheers

  20. I have a similar noise from my B4...It's only done 65k. Perfectly silent on idel, but on acceleration the ticking starts..it then settles down again when cruising?? I took it back to the garage and they tried to say it was the fuel ??? I'm not convinced...
  21. If someone can PM me there email address, I 'll email the pics then they can add them...I can't do it from work.... The thread goes on to say thay no other modifications are required to achieve this...no re-mapping, etc Cheers
