  1. Look at it this way: An STI is the thinking man's EVO...
  2. How many factory EVO's you seen lately? EVO is the better car, technically, in factory form, no matter what models/years you compare. However, better isn't always better if you know what i mean.
  3. Ha, ha, really...just which legacy is better than a WRX for either road or track? As to EVO v's STI: Evo has better set up from factory, better engine, stronger driveline, more driver aids, technically, it's the better car. Which does everyone prefer? The STI. Just ask any motoring journo which they'd rather have in their garage; 99.9% of the time, they'll say STI...funny that.
  4. Pretty sure the Volks on my old spec c were 17x8.5, so a 9 should be ok. Wouldn't run 18's personally, but, if you like rubber bands....
  5. Why would this be a problem? i got 1.75 bar with a fully std exhaust...

    vf24 vs vf22 : upgrade

Put brand new VF22 on my 80K wrx and it pulled like a schoolboy with minutes to live...great turbo. And if your worried about lag, change down a gear...
  7. Where did you dig up the first photo, of my old silver wagon? that's OLD!
  8. OVER $50K for a V10 STI with a roof scoop? seriously? Maybe it's a singapore special edition RA-R (you know, the one with a raped gearbox and std STI engine)... ;D
  9. I couldn't WALK 2.4 km, let alone run it ;D But then, my idea of a job is NOT sitting in Waiouru forever, or driving up and down NZ endlessly (or at least until America starts another war).
  10. Wow, cuningly removes original location (simple, easy to get to and doesn't spill when changing) to a remote position, where it'll dribble all over the engine bay when it's unscrewed... :-\
  11. V7 Spec c wheelbase was 2540, extra 15mm increase due to castor angle change... Was sure this caried over to V8 sti, but, guess not...
  12. I thought they carried the V7 Spec C front suspension geometry over to the V8 STI?
  13. Spose i better get in quick... My old one came with Suretrack front, DCCD and had a nice CUSCO LSD... My vote would be: V7 if money is a concern, V8 if not as you will have a better selection of wheels and suspension available over the v9(before they changed the shock mounting and PCD). ...or, if money and taste are not a concern, buy a new one... ;D
  14. Bucking the trend here, i'd say buy the 1st one. Nice car and with a little bit of work, back to original cond...
  15. I doubt any adjusties for $100 could be described as 'all good'.
  16. Yeah, if it was an STI, which it's not, and if it hadn't been shaggad around with, and if it HAD done 24k, but it's obviously done way, way more. This thing will be a major headache for whoever buys it, i wouldn't give him 10k for it!
  17. Well, it's your fault for asking really. I mean, he has gone to GREAT pains to point out it's a Singapore Spec STI so OBVIOUSLY it'll have a Singapore spec STI turbo on it...
  18. Bet it's not as Aerodynamic as the original 1969-70's versions (This vehicle had a drag coefficient (cd) of just 0.28)... Plymouth Superbird Dodge Daytona
  19. In an un certed vehicle, can be certed lower... Disclaimer: Lowering your car can quite easily ruin your handling; it's unlikely your $400 lowered springs (or home made a/g jobs) will improve on the hundreds of thousands the factory spent setting it up originally...
  20. Spec C handled 1.75bar with no worries...and quite a few people on here think a V9 STI is superior to the spec c (ha ha), so, harden up ;D
  21. At least when you got it with Cusco and Buddyclub stickers, it actually had those parts, not JUST the stickers like some...
