  1. leak could be a pin hole leak going onto the exhaust, I\'ve had that. I\'ve also just found out that I\'ve had a head gasket leak for about a year and had no symptoms other than loosing coolant under boost, and thats in the track car that doesn\'t get driven nicely at all. get someone to do a leak test where they pressurize the system with the engine cold, makes small leaks onto the exhaust easier to find
  2. mount on firewall where TMIC would be if you have a FMIC?
  3. i ran yellows on my grey ecu in my trackcar for a year, was a little rich even with the boost wound up a bit. ran fine tho
  4. it should be written on a lable inside the driver door what the stock size is. i'm running 215\55\r17's which are a little taller than stock
  5. check your tyre sizes, they look too small, I'm guessing someone has bought the cheapest size rather than the proper size.
  6. nice, needs some bigger diameter wheels.
  7. I *think* qrafs one was madeby the same guy who made mine on my forester, they may or may not have combined into mike shaw fibreglass??? The gunuine ones take a bit of modifying from what ive seen on the net. If your good wi fibreglass and bog it might be worth your time modifying one.
  8. I'm mid 20's at taupo giving it a beating, ambiant is quite cold though. Even going slow ie warm up lap the intake temp is around the 20mark, not much difference for me between raping it and going slow, just if i sit still it can get up to 70..... I run v7 tmic and big scoop, and i'm looking at rewiring the intercooler sprayer to work again to see what effect it has *edit* checked the log i have on the work laptop, peaked at 30c at hampton downs. Otherwise was mid 20c.
  9. Dba do that rotor with small handbrake shoe Or you can get bigger handbrake pads like i have done and run standard 190mm brembo discs.
  10. where air con compressor is\was\should be. Thats where i run it in my road car, other wise as said above, move battery, put there
  11. I've towed clints legacy national park to Hamilton behind my forester, pulled well, stopped not so well (got the wobbles) I'm planning on using the foz to tow the RA on occasion so would love to know what the legalities are too
  12. 100 or 75, can't remember, bought it from jaycar, it's in the track car which isn't at home at the moment. I've cranked it for a good 30 secs to get car going on bad cold start and it's never tripped
  13. http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=SF2265&keywords=circuit+breaker&form=KEYWORD i have one of these with my battery relocated
  14. I'm selling some 4 pot calipers, located in hamilton http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,29823.msg409797.html#msg409797 If i was you i'd stay with your current set up unless your planning on going racing where you may benifit from bigger rotors, just get decent pads and fluid and stick with cheap bnt\repco rotors and you'll be amazed how good your brakes can be have a looky here for some pad recomendations http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,28598.0.html
  15. cheap ones from BNT. I run cheapies on both my road car and race car, have no issues with them at all. even when i did some track days in my forester the cheap discs held up well ie i still have them on the car now after 3 track days and 4 years driving
  16. did you follow the reset ecu instructions here? http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ccgrant/celcheck.htm I've done it plenty of times and it works in my 98 forester stb. O2 sensor will cause intermittent cel light with no noticeable fault, just an increase in fuel use. I have this issue and have done since i got the car 5 years ago. your alarm will have a feature to stop a thief from disconnecting your battery, so you either need to get a key for the alarm or just cover the siren with a pillow to hide the noise I think you need yo go through and eliminate the faults one by one. possibly the AT one first cause i think i remeber something about another member having random cel lights after changing to manual, possibly get a manual ecu?
  17. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,67.0.html try search, it works....
  18. I need to find some 13" or 14" rims to fit on a trailer i've just bought that i'm upgrading brakes on, the stud pattern i have (4x100) is too close and won't work with the braked hubs so i have to change patterns to pretty much anything but what i have. The current wheels are mounted pretty close to the top and outside of guards so i don't have alot of room for error, the wheels tyres i have are 175\70r13x5.0 et45. I do have room between the wheels and chassis so if i can go wider towards the chassis that would be good anyone know of a common wheel that would suit my application? ie 13" x 6" with the face of the wheel still in the same position as the 13x5 et45? thanks
  19. quoted from LLVTA website ah ok so the car has to be 14 years old as well as removing all the airbag items like i said above. your best bet would be to ring\go see a certifier http://www.lvvta.org.nz/contact.html#certifier they will tell you exactly what is right.
  20. nope, fail, if you have airbag wheel and are getting cage you have to have fia seat if it's a road car you just have to remove ALL airbag items (airbag ecu, sensors, dash light etc)
  21. ^^^ and authority card\have to enter 2 events a year
  22. This topic has been moved to Auckland. [iurl]http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?topic=31206.0[/iurl]
  23. yeah i figured it's probably a "normal"\standard height for a tow ball, just need to know where it will be on my car, i think it'll be about 100mm lower, but it may be more, looking at paying a bit extra and getting the tow bar custom made to have the ball on my car higher but i don't know how much higher it could be made anyway
  24. ASS OF THEIR FORESTER YOU DIRTY MINED PEOPLE I'm wanting someone to measure where 400mm from the ground comes to on a standard forester at the back, I'm looking at a new tow bar and the ball height is going to be 400mm from the ground on a standard height foz, mine is far from standard so i wanna check how high it will be on my car. thanks
  25. after someone tinkering with your ecu that would be the first thing i'd do, no 2 cars are the same so "generic" tuning doesn't work IMO
