  1. Jebus. Timmah found a guide on making some of the mounts and buying the struts. Maybe we could get a bunch fabricated if there is enough interest ?
  2. Hi Everyone. I\'m looking at getting some gas struts for my bonnet to replace the standard arm which is broke. I\'ve had a look on eBay but can\'t find much for a BH. Anyone got some or know where you can source them within NZ ? Chur.
  3. I\'m not sure if this has been covered in the thread already but.. There is a third wire on the started that is the lead that is the signal from the key ignition to the starter to tell it to go. Mine had fallen off and was giving similar symptoms. AA man found it in about 30 seconds so must be common ish. It\'s impossible to see with the stater in place, Well in my case anyway. Luckily here is one google prepared earlier : http://www.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=3784767&imageurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rockauto.com%2Finfo%2FSMP%2FSS803_PRIMARY.jpg It\'s the small tab on the right of the terminal post. Might be in a different location on a different starter.
  4. Yeah I\'ve heard the gear boxes are really good in them. Mines got a auto trans which is a bit of a pain but it still works well. It can be a bit lumpy which might be the oil pump failing on it a bit but we can\'t win them all
  5. I was in the same boat. I was planning on rebuilding mine at 300k but it blew BeB at 266 sadly. Luckily I was able to find a rebuilt long block at a good price only downside is now is that I\'ve got this nice new engine but everything else is old and doesn\'t work as good as a newer one which is kinda depressing. On a side note it is nicer to drive with better power and torque etc.
  6. Blew BeB just before xmas sadly Rebuilt motor in it with STi pistons, rods and heads so I\'m fairly certain it should handle things without to much issue.
  7. It could be yes, To me it feels like there is a bulge in the tire when I\'m driving. Not something I\'ve experienced before. Someone else might have a better idea. Only noticed it after the dyno day.
  8. Well this has been reassuring It is a TT so it\'s running about 16-18 on both which is more than enough for my liking as it is. I\'m just wanting to avoid replacing the turbo more prematurely that needed. AFAIK it\'s done 270k km.
  9. I\'m more trying to avoid doing damage / bending fins as I don\'t have the money to replace the turbo at the moment.
  10. My BE5 has started doing something similar after the dyno day in chch. If I\'m rolling along a smooth road at 10-15km/h it feels lumpy in the back left corner. Had the wheel off and checked it for anything odd but it seemed to be okay. I\'m thinking possibly balancing/alignment or something in the cv as it increases with speed. Will be interested to know what yours is when you find it though.
  11. It was causing other issues at the time ironically boost cut and CEL on the secondary. Perhaps it was leaking vac/boost all over the show.
  12. In my defense the numbers were applied 4 years ago when I go the car and forgot which side was primary and which was secondary
  13. Hi Guys, What do people think is the highest safe boost you would want to be running on a primary turbo. Car in question is a BE5 / 2000. At the moment it runs nicely at half throttle at around 5-7psi but when applying full throttle it will peak to 12-14 then drop back to 10. What\'s people thoughts ?
  14. I broke the same thing on mine by accident. Cost $60 for a second hand one awhile back..
  15. That I do. I can show you at the next meet. They are pricey but well worth it. I plan on getting two more go do in a DIN cluster eventually.

    Go Pro cam

I\'ve also got one if you want to borrow it on the same terms lol
  17. I\'ve got a vac leak somewhere now. Another entire box of chocolates lol
  18. Tim was told that only 13 stores nation wide will now be stocking it. I doubt it\'s due to lack of demand though I see people buying it all the time. Would be nice for another chain to take up higher octane fuels.
  19. Speaking of fluids, What can people recommend ? Mine hasn\'t been changed in the 100k km I\'ve done in it so far and my brakes are uber shitty. Looking for something semi performance based.
  20. Keen, Someone care to show how to mount them ?
  21. It does it on both ECU\'s It\'s noticeably more rough since you had a fiddle with those hoses too so I\'ll re check them after dinner incase something is leaking.
  22. It sits just above the first big white line I\'m assuming its 500?
  23. Hi Guys, I recently did the "hose 10" mod on my primary turbo as listed on one of the other threads. The after effect of this is there isn\'t manifold pressure being leaked back into the intake. The downside is it\'s lowered my idle considerably. On average when warm it will sit around 200-300rpm which is a little low for my liking. It still idles fine and hasn\'t stalled from it as of yet but has come close. (Auto Trans) I\'m guessing this isn\'t overly normal ? Is it worth increasing the voltage on the tps to try raise the idle ? The TPS is currently sitting on 0.54v at rest when idling.
  24. I did a mad hack job with mine a couple years back. On the leggys you can twist the rear window wiper down and it only sprays the back window without moving the wiper. I jimmied up some hose over the intercooler and put some sprinkler heads on it. worked fairly well actually.
  25. Hello, My AT box has done around 270km and for the last few years or since I bought it really it\'s been quite sloppy with it\'s gear changes. It gets regular oil changes at 30k. When I say sloppy changes it\'s very lumpy and tends to lunge allot. Sometime\'s it\'s okay depending what level of throttle is applied and where the rev\'s are sitting. Likely scenarios ? I\'m guessing either worn clutch packs but that wouldn\'t explain how it can be find depending on the rev/throttle. Could it possibly be a faulty sensor not rev matching correctly ? Before people start having a go about it being AT, If someone want\'s to donate a full manual conversion kit I\'ll be more than happy to accept one.
