  1. it also means - those who txt while drivin will just hold phone in lap, nt up closer to vision.
  2. for those of you running mushroom foam filters... did you not see the pic keltic posted? Yes. thats my turbo, and its running a HKS style pod. Filters nothing, and fks turbo.
  3. which one requires the longer divider in the downpipe (if u have aftermarket)?
  4. TRAITOR! i hearby demand that you remove the title of " Semi-Elite Master of "doing it on the cheap" " from your profile. if you going black, one coat of black etch primer works wonders.
  5. carefully slap some grease on the rubber after cleaning the rims.... then spray away, once dry, clean the grease n overspray off Works really well for the machined rim look
  6. hahah nice sales pitch do you know a guy called derek whelen? guy i work with at Compac
  7. hmmm - am i the only one that jacks front of car up using the big plate under the main xmember?
  8. id be highly interested to know where to get pistons for $600 from... especially 6 of them, as last i heard, they wernt making kits for the H6 yet...
  9. *unsubscribe*. Can a mod with authority make a conclusion to this thread then lock?
  10. i do believe he was referring to the result?
  11. nope. based in akl nw. In chch, got avgas from track, in taupo - from the BP on the way out to the track. Aparently in chch, theres a small gas station just over the waimak that sells it.
  12. no mr officer, i only put avgas in at track, n drain tank afterwards...
  13. shortblock. new bearings alone will cost you $450ish for mains and big ends. But then you have to add new (or maybe if your lucky polish) crank, etc etc. could look at this... http://www.possumbourne.co.nz/engine_parts.html
  14. magoo ended up just making y pipe from scratch, turned out same price as rage list price for that piece
  15. rage was the brand i had fitted. The downpipes fit well, its just the Y-pipe can be a niggle.
  16. my tt was on 240k km, and god knows what # motor, still had vf13/14 - put the full downpipe on, and turbos went fine for next 50k km till i sold it (went through 2 motors in that time tho ) Primary got a little whiney, but still went hard. If you have a vf13 and it dies, shed a small tear, make an small offering to Zeus, then move on to something biggr n better like a vf18/vf21 or any of the new TT turbo's. Up until that point - it goes HARD.
  17. if you are in CHCH, talk to Magoo mufflers - when i was down there, the guys in the Riccarton branch were really helpful, and sorted me out. Also - look in the trademe thread here, iv linked to a set of TT downpipes....
  18. and im only on page 2, not 4.
  19. thats what i mean i thought i had a contact for a virtually unlimited supply of avgas... but turns out it kero
  20. hmmm - in chch, they sell at the track. When we were there, the guy just let us fill cars directly before trackday - no msnz licence required. That was a while ago. by the by, avgas != jetfuel.
  21. v5 afms are cheap. I had rebuild, car ran semi well, then started running bad again, new afm and all fixed $300 is cheap piece of mind, try finding a v3 afm Koom - whats that about breather systems? what will not having one do?
  22. minor fender benders would hurt
  23. climb under with a large spanner. gently tap all heightsheilds. Usually goes 'clunk', a loose one will make a rattle noise The main reason why people are jumping to doom and gloom is because its only under load. Normally a heatsheild rattles whether loaded or not, just depends on being at right revs. Big end bearings/pinking etc are most noticable under load.
  24. and i didnt know we had established that... a lot of those - i disagree w. -Autos have more to front so harder to get out. -No boost is needed, weight transfer is key. But after playing, it gets more fun on boost, and even more fun again on secondary -Agree. Its drifting, its harsh anyway - tyres/wheel bearings -Agree -Legacy wagons possibly, WRX wagons are noctorious for not going sideways, even w liberal use of handbrake. -Agree.
