  2. Yeah did a search and figured i had the callipers around the wrong way :-[ So just went and swapped them around and they are sweet now :
  3. So ive just finished putting the 4pots on the front of my car, and cant seem to get the damn thing bled properly, ive only been bleeding the front should i bleed the rear aswell? When i took the old breaks off i clamped the line so i figured there shouldnt be much air in the lines. When i was bleeding there didnt seem to be any air coming out. Do i need to have the car running when bleeding? When i start the car i have no pedal at all :-\
  4. Cheers for the help fellas, took the idle control valve off, it was a bit sticky and full of carbon build up, so cleaned it all up and re installed it, seems to be running sweet now. Cheers
  5. So ive noticed the missus v3 wrx sti has a high idle and in between changing gears its like the throttle is sticking, doesnt do it all the time but does seem to be getting worse. Any ideas what could be causing this?
  6. Hmm sounds like ill need to have a hunt around
  7. As title says does anyone know who you can buy the tools needed to remove the cam gears on an ej20 engine?
  8. Look like nice calipers, so they would be sweet to run with standard rear calipers? I would have thought that would put your brake balance waay out?
  9. Also if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost you?
  10. Good stuff, whats the specs on your engine? What type of fuel controller did you use?
  11. Just wondering what most of you guys run, either super lows or just lows and what brand, how do you find them? Also pics of how they lower the car aswell would be good. The missus wants some for xmas so thought i would try to get a rough idea of what everyone else has and how you find them. Living in chch i dont want them to be too low, but obviously all the missus is worried about is it looking good
  12. That was me that asked it mate, asked on here the same time. Answer doesnt exactly help me though
  13. Just wondering if anyone on here would know if these gaskets would suit my engine in my 1995 version 2 wrx sti ra. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=534868248&permanent=0
  14. Sweet cheers for the advice, will do the fronts first and see how they go. Also is it worth getting some slotted rotors while im at it? It will be getting used for track days ect soon, once i get it running how i want.
  15. Have had a search on here and cant find what im looking for so will ask instead. Im wanting to upgrade the brakes on my sti ra, currently is just running the standard brakes, what im looking at doing is upgrading the fronts to the later model sti 4 pots and leaving rears standard, is this worth doing? Also is it a bolt up job or need to modify things to fit? Will be doing new pads and disks at the same time so will get those to suit the new calipers. OR is is worth doing the rears at the same time if i can find some, which from what i understand may need some modifications to fit.
  16. Im starting to think about different ideas for a rebuild on my v2 sti ra. It has now done just over 190,000km so everything is starting to get a bit tired. One option ive been looking at is buying a PBMS forged block like the one below Or the other option is just a standard rebuild with STI bits which i havn't yet priced up. Id like your thoughts on how far i should go, power wise i would like around 300-350hp nothing huge. I'm more after getting some reliability so i can do some track days and drag days, maybe the odd sealed hill climb as well. I will be getting a baffled sump to start with, is there anything else that needs to be done to prevent bearing failure? Any other ideas would be great, i will be doing most of the work myself apart from the machining which i have a couple of mates that can do that which will cut cost. As for the bolt on bits im hoping the tdo5 will be up to the task? Would like to stay away from a front mount and just upgrade the top mount if possible, unless you think i may run into issue, but i have herd of some cars making good power with a top mount so hopefully it should be ok. As far as injectors is it worth while upgrading to the yellow injectors? Also look at upgrading the fuel pump as well maybe a walbro? Any other ideas would be great.
  17. To be honest ive had the best experience a VTNZ in Parkhouse, pritty sure it is VTNZ or maybe VINZ either way its in that parkhouse sockburn area. Got pink stickered in my laurel and had to go there for a wof and they were great. I dont mind failing a wof as long as it is for legitimate reason, i hate places that just be wankers because they think you are a boyracer
  18. Sweet cheers will have a look, had a look under there the other night and someone has done a horey job of an alarm install :-\ Is it more under the dash or againts the firewall?
  19. Bit of a noob question but where is the ecu located in a 1995 wrx sti ra?
  20. Found this on another forum, does it sound right?
  21. Ive taken the intercooler off and there seems to be a lot more oil on the intake side than the turbo side, could that be a sign as well to blow by? If it is blow by does that mean i definitely need a rebuild or as you said get a decent catch can setup?
  22. Gotta have some fun with it, no point having a turbo car just to look at ;D Will do a bit more research and see what i come up with, may be a good excuse for a new motor lol :
