  1. ok will let you know how i get on when i have found the source of the leak. Many thanks for your help
  2. So am i going to have to get used to hearing that sound more now? . . .and would you like to expand on the second part of your answer ??? :-[
  3. Funny you should mention that. Looked in between the throttle body RH side and could see a small amount of coolant. Going to whip the intercooler off tomorrow and have a look. I expect the problem lies within a heater hose or something, and also when driving it sounds like there is a massive water bottle sloshing sound behind my dash. . . hmm.
  4. yes have sump guard. Upon taking guard off it appeared to be only the very top that was wet. rest seemed fine
  5. Small coolant hose that has split would be great, cheap fixes are great =) . I had my cambelt etc done about 10,000km ago. Pretty sure Subaru did not replace my waterpump, although quoted for it was in good nick so not touched i think - will check reciepts later. Although, i thought the water pump was at the front of the engine out of sight on these?
  6. HI all, Seems i have a rather large leak coming from the lower back part of the engine (kind of directly below the tmic). Discovered upon coming into garage half a hour after parking my car up and seeing about 500mls of coolant on the floor. Checked header tank which was not far off empty so filled up. Ran car in garage but no leak could be found. Temp gauge hasnt moved a notch while driving the car today, nor while idling in garage. Mainly just wanting to know what is at the back part of the engine towards the firewall. Going to try and get access to a hoist later in the week for a closer inspection, but any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Ben
  7. I had those wheels on my silver BE shape for a while (swapped mags with dad for a while) and they looked great. Not sure what they would look like on a wagon version. Im sure some photoshop minded person lurking on the forums would play up a photo for you? I say go for it anyway =)
  8. crush washer added $3.00 cost hah. Down in Dunedin any how .
  9. Okay $5.00 then. Thats about the price of a bottle of water and a chocolate bar from a service centre?
  10. Good idea, maybe clubsub will be on the news again? .
  11. Can vouch for Clic. Great people to deal with - plus insured value rather than market value for the win =)
  12. This car's been for sale for so0o0o long now (Same with his other car for sale that you normally see him driving, the Levin). His reserve is around 15g - last time i checked. Really tidy car in real life, not sure if i'd commit with the price though?
  13. Thanks guys will do, looks like i'l find the mechanical insurance threads lingering on here to find a reliable company then haha .
  14. Hi all, Just a quick question - Do any mechanical insurance companies allow you to take out policies on engines that are not original to the car? I recently replaced my engine (which was installed through subaru along with replacing timing belt, cambelt, waterpump, clutch etc) and was thinking about taking out some insurance. Help appreciated, Ben
  15. Thanks guy. - - - > ouch those japanparts pieces are EXPENSIVE ???
  16. True. I just dont want to botch it up haha
  17. Thanks, really just wanting to add a bit more flare to the front. The stock grill is bo0ooring =).
  18. Hi all, Wanting a aftermarket grill for my 99 B4. Just wondering whether anyone would know best place to go looking? Thanks
  19. Thats a bugger, more of a hassle than anything else eh?
  20. I thought Simon C had reported him, with no result. You'd think false advertising like this one would be high on their hit list due to the sums of money involved. Obviously not?
  21. well thats something you dont expect to see every day . .
