  1. Do you have anything else that can read MP3 cd's to test it on? Like a discman, DVD player, mini system etc?
  2. More output higher in the rev range without sacrificing spool up speed?
  3. I might be persuaded to part with my goodies... we can chat about what you'd like, and what will fit over... sway bars, links etc.
  4. Yeah there are fk all options for us legacy owners... it's pretty piss poor really.
  5. You call THAT a lot of wires? Haha that's nothing Check this setup out

    Blown Fuse?..

Yep check the INT fuse in the engine bay. You've wired up your headunit incorrectly.
  7. I have a set of Whiteline front and rear swaybar links if you're interested... haven't figured out a price for them yet though
  8. Yep what spark_38 said, except for you don't always need new spacers. You can hack up the plastic factory spacer if the magnet is too deep, just cut the angled back part off with a hacksaw. Or the last time I did it, I broke it off bit by bit with a large pliers haha. I installed a set of Pioneer speakers and they went straight in.
  9. Haha you'll hate me then, I got mine for $400
  10. I think about $15 - $20 each? Also get the rings that go around the bolts if you can. I know they come with aftermarket kits like ACL, but not with genuine subaru ones.
  11. It wouldn't be very good as a ute cos the rear tray doesn't fold down. Unique though.
  12. What about the hose that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the manifold?
  13. I've always been a Pioneer Fanboy... for price & features then you can't do much better than the 6050UB
  14. Well it started as soon as the gas pedal was held down. I haven't replaced anything as yet as it hasn't happened since, but if it does start happening again then it'll be the spark plugs that need replacing.
  15. Yeah I saw one the other day with an RFRB sticker so came to that same realisation.
  16. How long since the spark plugs were changed?
  17. Yes they do but they normally look like: (stolen from Legacy pics thread) I'm talking about the ones that look like mine: Judging by this pic it looks the same: (again stolen from Legacy pics thread) Not as many of those around.
  18. Here's how you go about upgrading the headunit in your BE/BH, that uses the Macintosh amplified system. The Macintosh units do sound and perform pretty good in their own right as a factory setup, but the main reason why people upgrade them to aftermarket headunits is because they require more functionality. They want to play MP3 coded CD's, connect MP3 players easier, subwoofers, higher powered amplifiers and the like, which is really quite hard and can be expensive if you get adaptors and such for all your devices. The process to change the headunit is the same as here: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?/topic/712-upgrading-the-headunit-in-your-bebh-non-macintosh-ampd-system/ Doing this will also remove sound going to the factory "sub" 6x9, but most people would replace this with an amplified aftermarket subwoofer. I won't go into how to hook up speakers or subs as that's quite easy. If anyone wants this info they can send me a PM. Any 6" speaker will fit into the factory speaker fittings, you'll probably just have to cut the angled backs off them if the magnets are too big. Remove the trim on the passenger floor side to expose the wiring, and find these two plugs Cut the two wires that are Green with White stripe and Brown with White stripe, as pictured Cut the Pink/White wires with a little bit of length (as pictured) to allow the connection to the other wires you just cut. Remove the black cable protection to expose the wires Connect the Pink wire to the Brown/White wire and the White wire to the Green/White wire. Tuck the wires back in and replace the trim. On the drivers side, repeat the same steps and find the same two plugs. Instead of the small plug having Pink & White wires they are Purple and White, and from the big plug find the Red/Yellow stripe & White/Black stripe wires (as pictured) Connect the Red/Yellow stripe wire to the Purple wire and the White/Black stripe wire to the White wire (as pictured) Tuck the wires back in and replace the trim. You will now have all front & rear door speakers going.
  19. Here's how you go about upgrading the headunit in your BE/BH, that doesnt use the Macintosh amplified system. Here's an example of a BE model with a double-din unit. Pull the gear lever surround off to access the tray screws, and remove the tray The plastic surround pulls off, but there are some plugs you'll need to undo, they are circled Undo the 6 screws holding the headunit brackets in and pull it out To make it easier, get the Subaru adaptor looms from Repco so you don't have to hack up any wiring. You'll also need to get a pocket kit as well, which you can also get from Repco Then all you need to do is screw your new unit and pocket into the brackets, hook it up and you'll be going! Finished product
  20. The rear roof spoiler on my car is off an E-Tune wagon, so it's an option from 96 GTB's onwards.
  21. That man deserves a DB I won't bother arguing with "I don't know anything about car audio" I could just let my amps, subs, and 3-way active-crossovered front system speak for itself :-) Which it does quite well.
