  1. No, you hit the horn and it yells out HELLO!!
  2. Car : 2009 Legacy BR Wagon, 2.5L NA Tuned or stock?: Stock Fuel : 95 from wherever's cheapest.. normally Mobil Fuel economy : Open road driving: 7.5L / 100km (13km / L) City: 9 - 9.5L / 100km (10.5 - 11km / L) Fuelly stats if known : Haven't been using Fuelly, but maybe I should My economy stats are based on before I installed my roof racks & cycle carriers. Road trip from Auck - Welly consumed 44.41L for 630km = 7.04L / 100km. My next trip was with the racks installed and a bike on the roof - 24.95L for 279km = 8.94L / 100km... quite a difference! I'm going to test this out again on my next couple of road trips - to Tauranga with 2 bikes on the roof... then again to Rotorua with everything taken off, and see how they compare. EDIT: The other thing I neglected to mention, was that I've also changed my wheels and tyre size from when I got it. It did have 17" rims, now it has 19" rims with a higher circumference tyre, so that will also be affecting the gas mileage.
  3. Is there anybody in Tauranga or close-ish that would be willing to house some suspension from me, for another member in Auckland ( @mtbtimr ), until they can come collect it? I'm coming up on the 19th January for the weekend. Thanks
  4. Considered one of the daily-driving-minded options from Bridgestone / Firestone, like Dayton?
  5. So $50 is a lot to spend on a single towel, but if it does the job that it advertises, then it looks a very good product. Anybody own one or has used one, and can provide good feedback? Similar towels by Detail Depot are cheaper but not as large. Is bigger better, in this case?
  6. Still need some? My Foz is sold now so looking to offload what I have. Send me a PM and we can go from there
  7. @MattK Or nearest offer. High KM's just shows a reliable engine, and it's had all the important (that most people deem important anyway) things serviced. Would you rather a 150km engine that's been rebuilt?
  8. @MattK well it ticks both your boxes
  9. You've seen the rest, now get the best https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1492147987
  10. Tell him to wait until mine has sold... don't want to flood the market haha
  11. Or get something a bit different, with the convenience of a wagon and just as quick, like a Forester STi
  12. Say you've damaged / lost your first key and claim getting a replacement under insurance, and just pay the excess? Caveat: It may increase your premiums for next year if you lose your no claims bonus.
  13. I believe @sobanoodle has the correct pre-facelift facia if you were to go down that route
  14. An exhaust of some description.. for the beeeemer?
  15. Ummm nope they should be working. Unless you're using Safari browser on an Apple device... seen that from another person yesterday. Use Chrome and try again. The only images are in my first post, FYI
  16. Quite possibly but then he said that he got others... so I got those ones, content with the fact that I wasn't a copycat
  17. None of them look like what you've done though.. yours looks like a cut out of a thick rubber, so you can get them wider?
  18. That's not a silly idea.. are they proper ones or made from something else? Got a pattern / how-to for it?
  19. Wheels - BGW Motorsport 19 x 8.5", 45p Tyres - Dayton DT30, 245 40 19 Very happy with the look, even unlowered, due to the slightly larger tyres to help fill the guards out. Before: After:
  20. So I'm more or less just thinking out loud here, trying to figure out if my thinking and calculations are correct. Someone else may have already thought about this as well.. who knows. Driving my car, when the Speedo reads 100, my phones GPS actually gives me 93kph. The current wheels & tyres are different to the factory options, and when I use this calculator: http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/speedo-error-calculator And I enter the factory wheel / tyre specs vs what's on the car now, it says it now reads 99 when it should be 100 so the current difference is negligible. So for all intents and purposes, I'm using 100kph and it would still be underreading by 6kph instead of 7. So, I want to try and figure out what tyres I should use on my new car, to try and fix the speedo difference and get a more accurate reading. When I'm using the above calculator, there is this sentence: "Speedometer reads xxx, but the actual speed is xxx" So, when I'm wanting to compare different size tyres from the original to new, I should ACTUALLY put 93 into the "Speedo reading" box, rather than 100. Correct? Then it will give me a comparison reading based on the GPS'd 93kph / Speedo 100kph. An example: If current tyres 215/50/17 gives me a reading of 93kph, then comparing that to a 245/40/19 gives me a new reading of 98kph. So if my current speedo at 100 gives me a GPS speed of 93, by changing to the above new tyre it would then give me a GPS speed of 98. Or changing to a 245/45/19 gives me a new reading of 101kph. Does that stack up? Comments?
  21. Installed the roof racks & bike carriers, and black plasti-dipped the rear emblems. It was late in the day and it's not the best job so I will probably re-do it when I have some more time, but it's good enough for now.. I like the look. No pic though since it was too dark to look effective, will take one tomorrow.
