Heater stuck on hot

The WRX has developed another problem

Heater is stuck on hot when set at cold, and if i turn the dial to hot it just gets even hotter...

All the linkages/stepper motor seem to be working correctly... Do I assume the heater box is busted? or is there another solution?

Sounds like your hot/cold air flap isn't fully closing. And I can't remember which one of the 3 it is.

hmmmm.... is this going to be a heater box removal mission?

Maybe, have a play around with the control motors first. I *think* its the one on the passengers side of the box.

That wont be a problem.... its Autumn now and soon will be winter. Worry about it in 7 months time lol

Yeh, passengers side one is the temp.... drivers side is the vent control

I pulled the motor off and held the linkage in the cold position and im still getting damm hot air!!!!

this is true, but not ideal... although in saying this WTF my leone which I had prior to this exploded the heater core at the end of winter, so I never thought about fixing it till winter came round again... never fixed it anyway... just sold the car during the next summer Guy was wrapped that the A/C worked in such an old car
