some quick pic's, I'm not going to remove the diff as there's nothing wrong with it, & it didn't refresh my memory either, Hey Boostin once the back lash & bearing shells have been removed, i'm sure the inner cv stubs can be removed from the diff, but it been years like 8 or so years ago when i did this last & even then i just pulled stuff apart to see how it worked, any idea's mate :)

Yeah pull the stubs out, then the bearing cups etc out, then the diff should be able to be maneuvered out from there.

The diff casing needs to be separated from the rest of the trans though.

The thing with 4 bolts holding it in is the diff end of the pinion shaft. It runs right through to the transfer gears at the back of the trans.

Got pics of what you're talking about?

I think the one at the back is a 34 or 35mm socket. I usually just rattle it off.

That whole face that picture is looking at is the oil pump. It has to come off to get to the rest of the innards, and to get it off the pinion nut has to come off the back.

ok so from here i take pinion shaft out, by undoing nut and removing it (i have already undone the 4 bolts) then i have access to otehr shaft, i have undone teh allenkey end, is there a knack or will it be obvious when i get the pinion shaft out?

i have tried to remove the face but couldn't get it to come off but once i remove it it will fall to bits basically?

Yeah, you just gotta get that nut undone and then smack the end of the shaft where the nut was with a soft hammer, or a hard hammer with a bit of wood against the shaft.

Once you crack that nut off it will be pretty easy.

If you put those 4 bolts back in the pinion bearing flange, when you whack the end of the pinion it will pull the whole oil pump assembly off the trans case.

Did you get the diff out in the end?

ok so im looking at this and i cant see a way of getting the axles out, other than undoing the 12 or so bolts holding the diff together.

there appears to be a key way to lock it up but cant see anyway of undoing it..

pic of keyway bit.

Stick a phillips screwdriver through the hole in the stub, then chuck a lever or 2 under it and flick it out. You don't need to undo the 12 crownwheel bolts.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
