Version 8 STi Fault code 212, Help......

Hey guys,

Have been chasing the problem in the car, check engine light is on and spits out code 212 which is apparantly........... P0212 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 12

Hmmmm last time I checked I didbt have twelve cylinders :-\ Any body seen this before or have ANY idea on what would cause it?? I am selling the car and it is all running well etc but the check light doesnt look good.....

you sure its 212? could be 21 or 12?

No, its code #212 in the list of fault codes for your engine. Which could be anything. Get it scanned properly.

I have, thats the code that comes up. Both with scan tool and CEL flashes. 21 Long, 2 Short ???

Yep, so find code 212 in the list for your car. The scan tool obviously doesn't have the list already loaded. You might need to use a Subaru Select Monitor to check it.

Same list as I was using On the OBD codes site 212 is a generic code for 12 cylinder injector, obviously there is no 12 cylinder Subaru so its not in that list. Who knows why it is popping that code through the CEL but it comes up with 102 which is MAF sensor when on the scanner. The Subaru guy was as stumped as me as to why it pops the other code when testing through the plugs.

Have a spare MAF going in to night so fingers crossed, cleaning the original made no difference unfortunatly

You're not listening. The 212 means you need to look up the list of fault codes for a V8 STI and find the 212th code. And they won't be sequential. It might be P0720, or P1368. The only definite way is to have it scanned with a Select Monitor.

Spotme's wagon was flashing up 13, which on the early cars is cam angle sensor. However it was P0031 when scanned, the 13th code in the list for an 02 GTB.
