sti upgrades

have got a sf5 fory that ive had since dec last year and after using it as a daily driver for a while i want to upgrade suspension, intercooler, seats etc for sti bits. i understand that gc8 sti pink struts fit in once u change the rear hats but do u need to do anything else besides the obvious wheel alignment? are standard wrx sti springs enough to drop the fory to a reasonable height or would i still need lowered springs? i dont want to put them in to find my alignment is too far out to drive to get alignment done and need to get something else to make it drivable. basicly i want specific chassis codes for bits that will fit such as what front and rear swaybars will fit straight in without modification, what front and rear strutbraces will go straight on, tmi etc... i figure with all the mods done to everybody elses rides already that u guys have the experience us newbies are after to make modifying our forys easier. anyways any help would b greatly apreciated.

Hey mate, GC8 stuff does indeed need its rear hats swapped over, go one better and fit GDB ones ;) other than that all you'll need to go is that mentioned wheel alignment (putting standard wrx/sti struts in will lower your car about the same as a set of low/super low springs would). Would also change the rear sway bar for an STI one also. Apparently the front is already 20mm but your rear would only be 10mm so this alone will make your foz hit those corners with alot less difficulty. Ive fitted a GC8 (version 4 or 5) rear sway bar and the difference is amazing!

v7 intercooler fits if you don't have a IAC valve in the road coming off the rear of the intake manifold.

as matt said, v7 struts bolt straight up and lower decently

front bar on foz is 20mm standard 14mm rear standard, v6 bar fits with no mods

front strut bars off gc8 wrxs fit with standard intercooler, if you have larger TMIC you will have to custom make a front bar as i have had to do.

rear bar needs to be forrester one or maybe v7 wrx as gc8 will have incorrect bolt pattern, i ended up with a forrester specific one

try looking on ozfoz.com for more info, all those guys are pretty onto it from what i've found.

Craig can we get a pic of your engine bay as it stands today? Just to give us a better idea on V7 mods etc.

And sorry can you explain the IAC valve for me and exactly where it is seeing your old thread died with the old forums?

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
