No, they need to be checked with a scanner.

You can check it manually, but you need the full list of fault codes for your specific vehicle, as the code flashed out is that number code in the list, ie 13 isn't cam angle sensor, but the 13th code on the list. They're a PITA.

See here for the Subaru "P" fault codes. OBDII codes.txt

Thanks Boostin. So if it can be done manually, how would you go about it... the plugs that are used on the JECS ecu's arn't on my car (denso ecu).. I'm sure i read on the net recently about how to do it, involved pressing the trip meter button a few times and turning the ignition on and off and a few other things...

I know that that the codes can't be cleared easily without the OBDII scan... something about 'a volatile ram'.

It's checked and cleared the same way as earlier ECU's. Black connectors to check, black and greens to clear.

You could try that tool. You just need to get a USB to OBDII cable.

Okay, i can't for the life of me find any such connectors... i can see them on my mates 2000 B4... to be honest, i don't think the Rev D's have these with the Denso ECU - bugger!

Have to buy the lead for the PC... downloaded all the free software for ecuExplorer... see how we go.

Probably doesnt help but my Rev D H6 flashes out codes for me. Its still got the good ol' white plugs under the steering column.

The last code i got from it was easy enough to google. It also has a Denso ECU

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
