Putting this interior bit into that

I've seen some pics all across the net of GD Chassis interiors getting put into different older cars such as GC's and SF Foresters, in particular the Dash and Center consoles. Anyone know how this is actually done? (do the GD clips, bolts etc line up with the GC/SF ones or is actual modification required? Any info appreciated) I don't plan on doing this myself but figured it was worth having a discussion thread on the subject for someones future use (save them having to try and trawl the net which I've failed miserably at other than finding pics of the end result) Could be a good potential DIY thread if we can come up with enough info

I researched this on NASOC or whatever it is as i was interested in putting a version 8 dash and console into my coupe.

It has been done and it does work but youve got to hack a few bits and pieces up and custom brackets/mounts etc.

As per usual anyhtings possible depending on how much you want to spend

Yeah, from the brief look I made today when it came across my mind it is doable, but the ease of it is what is up for debate. There is a guy on the forester.org site that's converted a 2001 Forester with 03WRX dash etc but he did the complete swap, wiring loom, engine, gearbox, the whole shebang.

Doesn't look like he had to do much to chuck the 03 dash in to make it physically fit though.
