help? thinking of buying Legacy gtb 1997

im looking at getting at legacy gtb 1997 170,000k cam belt done 10,00k ago wondering what they are like as cars how reliable they are etc? mate had one had done 220, and he said they are mean, this one has done 170,000. been a family car for four years cv boots getting done because they click and thats pretty much it? any help would be good

I used to have one, did over 300,000km. I'd say they're reliable. Check the water pump, it should be replaced when the cambelt is done but is often neglected.
