Forester safe boost?

Hey, iv got a 99 stb forester with yellow injectors, vf22 and hdi boost controller, what would be the safe boost setting?

15psi would be safe, but I wouldn't take it past 18psi

do forester come with carst iron pistons or semi forged?

i would take it past 15psi if it isnt sti,sti will be sweet up to 20psi

lol thats setting is only there to limit it,.no really what the engine is capable off.you dont want a learner driver jumping into a sti thats running 20psi,rather than the limiting 14.5psi

I'd rather a learner driver isn't in a car running ANY boost!

So 15psi would be safe then? Not sure what if the pistons are semi forged or cast iron. What do they normaly come standard?

I'd say that you have a pretty factory engine and non STI, therefore just the cast pistons. Like Stoffa said earlier i would say around 15-16 PSI should be fine depending on your setup etc. Always make sure the car is running a good mixture of air and fuel...

When paying around with Boost be extremely careful that it doesn't overboost and settle (AKA Boost Spike) Things such as bearings, piston and rods don't like that
