Can I rebuild a VF26 turbo?

The primary VF26 (RHF4) is a non-Ball Bearing (sleeve) turbo

Bearing rebuild kits are available.

Yeah On the look out now. I have aquired a secondary turbo as a back up.

dont bother rebuilding them easier and far cheaper to use a secondary, rebuild kit and labour you could buy 4 plus secondary units

Which secondary do you normally use Steve? The likes of the VF27 for a primary would be pretty laggy with a P18 housing wouldnt it?

you use the secondary to match the pair and the ones i have dont have a p18 there nowhere near it.

you need to remember the turbine will be driven by the same housing as the primary already has and theres not much between them size wise so it wont be an issue

I think you should just get rid of all the little turbos and buy one big one and single it!

I would love to but the plan end of next year is an 03+ Subby single turbo. Then will do nice mods to that. This car is to get into learning about turbos and next one will be moding them

You will need your existing primary turbo Non-BB VF26.

A turbo shop will remove the compressor cover and turbine housing from the BB VF27.

The centre section CHRA of the VF27 is then used to replace that of the VF26.

These two turbos use the same size wheel sets, so no performance increase.

However it will be slightly more responsive as you will now have a unique BB VF26
