version 7 block with version 3 heads and manifold

please before you say use the search option, i did. i just read so many different posts about it all giving mixed information, i have no idea... i have a version 3 sti ra engine that ive just done a piston in. if i get a version 7 sti shortblock and use all my other version 3 gear with the v7 shortblock, (v3 heads, manifold etc.. )will this work? if not what would have to be done? if the v7 swap cant be done is there any other alternatives to my broken piston situation? i have my eye on a v7 shortblock so please help thanks in advance

yes it will work, make sure u used the headgasket for the V3 heads
