Hi,

just wondering what sort of power you can get out of these with an ecu retune? ....also...i know the older models had a difference in the engine between auto and manual....is there a difference this year for the tiptronic ones? ....easier in traffic lol

I thought Revision D was 2003 onwards ?.

Sorry my mistake, it is a 2003 - Don't own it ...yet.. just looking at the moment, but want the ability to tune it with stock ecu get a bit more power

Free flowing front pipe + ECU tune on a tiptronic should get you 180 kw at the wheels.

Talk to PBMS in Pukekohe, they should be able to do the lot around $1500 (tune and front pipe), add a AdrenalinR resonator for $250 to sort out the noise issue with bigger front pipe and you will love it.

Manuals run different turbos, you will get more.

But the RevD 5 speed tiptronics are actually way better than the old 4 speeds.

Nah different box, the 2003 onwards are way more responsive and smoother, Subaru really got the shift points nailed. I came from driving a manual performance car for the last 10 years and am really liking the 5 speed auto.

Which revD's came with 5 speed auto??? As far as I was aware only Gen 4 Legacys came with 5 speed auto.

Think people are getting confused. Rev D was on the older twin turbo's BH? Chassis code. Starting around late 2001 I beleive Rev D's were made.

Late 2003 on the legacy changed completely to the new model chassis code BL/BP - These were the first 5 speed auto's in legacys, single turbo's etc.

Far better with the 5 speed single turbo.

I have owned both, currently drive the single turbo auto BL Sedan. These can be tuned easily with sub tech down pipe and reflash etc.
