I was in the Manawatu over the weekend competing in the King of the Mountain

hillclimb weekend... which I recommend to everyone for next year, the Sunday

hillclimb was on a brilliant bit of road.

The car went fantastically %99.9 of the time and I finally seem to have it handling

really great as well.

On the last two runs of the weekend, on one tight left hander with a very

steep incline, in second gear, the motor just decided not to rev any more...

the first stage of shift light came on (6200rpm), but then it wouldn't go

much further, and I had to shift up. Only happened on this one corner, and

I'm thinking fuel surge because I only had just above quater of a tank.

It's possible this was the fastest and steepest left hander which is why it didn't

surge anywhere else.

I have data logs of every run, but need to match them up to video to find

the exact place it happened in the logs... what would I be looking for in the

logs to identify fule or surge or some other problem? I know there was no

detonation for example.

I'm betting it was surge...

I was getting it at Manfield when i ran below 1/4 tank

depending on what line i took into the hairpin.

My symptoms were the same as what you describe. no sign of a problem then bang just nothing under the foot for about 3-4 seconds.

I just had a look at the results.. You did good.

I really should have been there but couldn't be arsed . LOL

does your computor do a lambda reading or show a stoichiometric ratio?

maybe next year try a surge tank and half a tank of gas. i assume it will be difficult to pinpoint the exact point it happened but will probably just be one of those things you have to do trial and error

Thanks, 6th is not too bad, plenty of room for improvement in times for next year though, especially the Sunday event. Vinegar hill is not to be missed, awesome road.

yeah probably surge, I went through fuel so fast, about half a tank for 42km of racing I think!

diff is noisy as hell when not uner load, needs some friction modifier, but wicked

when the power is on, locks up nice and tight and has really helped to get rid

of power understeer in low grip situations... made the wet weekend much more

enjoyable :)

There were quite a few surprising cars there, loads of old school american

v8s... very weird. 4 rx7s or more, and of course a bunch of 500hp evos.

I should have my shit together by then...

Mrs is working 6 days a week at the moment so life is kinda busy.

You thought about doing a round of the Road And Track sprints?

Only Dane and I there last round.

Would be good to get as many clubsub people as possible there.

Put on a good show.. Maybe....

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
