smoke and oil

hey guys just brought another 93 ra. has had a full forged rebuild 4000kms ago. supposibly running a possum link and had a vf22 put on in original place and he took the air filter off 2 days before i brought it. ive drivin it around a bit. just over a full tank of gas worth planning on getting a pipe made up for filter.

problem now is its smoking alot when it is started, has oil in the compressor inlet to turbo and a little in the bov. its running an oil catch can and has smoked a little out there since i brought it and mechanic said it has a little oil in the catch can 2.

any ideas on wat it could be that is wrong?

Are you saying your running the compressor wide open without an Airfilter?

yeah for some reason, god knows why he took the pipe off that had the air filter on it 2 days before i got so he reckons

havnt had the time or money to get it done straight away. quoted 450 bucks to get done

Do you have receipts for the work done?

Was it done by somebody reputable or home job?

yeah reckons its under warranty at vaughen tyre and performance in timaru i think it is

Best you take it to them immediately.

yeah guna ring him tomorrow and see what the go is. the guy reckoned blown turbo but i think its more of a problem than that

Given the fact it's a freshly rebuilt engine it shouldn't be excessive blow by as this is the domain of worn engine's.

It may be blown Turbo oil seal's or Piston ring breakdown.

Take it to the engine builder's for assessment.
