Help! Boost spike! / Boost cut

Hi there i have a 97 Gtb legacy with a 97 wrx engine..

Im currently experiencing boost spike.. my boost is currently on 14psi (1bar) with sti parts like injectors etc with sti V2 pistions.

Is there anyone in West Auckland that can have a look at my engine...? or help me out on the forum with what can be checked or fixed.

What is it spiking to, and what is controlling the boost?

i Have a cheap boost controller its a turbo smart manual controller...

i would rather get rid of it and use the stock setting of the sti computer..

but i wouldn't know how to do this cause of the black box on the left hand side above the air filter is really confusing..

I would like to also get rid of the black box if possible, i've seen some single turbo legacy's without.

With the spike, its spikes randomly most times, if i put my pedal to the floor it feels like i've hit a brick wall and then boost spikes to 1. bar or less sometimes 0.8bar.

Any ideas?
