Got an issue...gone thru a box of tissues....help :)

Hey guys was doing some minor detailing of the engine bay..was about to diconn the battery and got a phone call. After the phone call i started taking the alternator out and forgot about the battery!, anyway accidently shorted the alternator lead against the air con unit with a bit of a snap and the alarm just startd doing it monotone errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr like a flat battery. So now shes flat line?? zip nada nothing?? checked all the fuses nothing blown my thoughts were maybe its killed a cell in the battery or zapped the ecu....???

Have you checked the fusible link? Its the big loop of wire at the front of the fuse box.

Batteries can normally take a quick shorting, but nothing sustained.

I havnt but I will have a look, It was only a real quick snap. The 80A SBF No1 Fuse looks to have blown?

You'll need to replace it as that supplies power to the vehicle systems.

haha yep sure enough after about 15mins trundling through the wiring diagram found as you said it is the power supplier removed fuse, it had blown, shot to palmy picked up a new one and a way we go
