has anyone seen australian brand HDI boost cut/controllers on trademe specificly made for subaru im pretty wary as they sell alot of chineese junk intercooler kits ect but aparently its made by them specificly ???

I would stay away, I had endless problems trying to deal with them over my intercooler not fitting properly and after countless emails they basically said they dont care.

Their site says they are constantly doing research and development to improve their products, but when I tried to give them feed back about shit not fitting and not being able to pass a cert, they said their parts are designed for race and not the street even though their site says otherwise.

ive done so many HDI intercooler kit and they seem to be the closest fit then any other ones on trademe.

HDI been around for many years now. i remember my first intercooler kit from them was $1500.00 then every bob joe and charlie copy it and rebrand it such as DSR ( they are more of a C*** to deal with )

as for the intercooler kits none of them ever fit properly

I just installed one of their boost controllers today specifically designed for subaru into a v4 sti wagon, pretty easy install just follow the instructions, seems to hold boost stable.

which one u get? the type d rx? subaru specific with boost cut lifter function?

Yeah im pretty sure it was the type d rx version, specific for subarus. Im not sure about the boost lifter function yet cause we only set the boost to 18 psi. will let you know if it goes over 20 psi, its also a pretty smart unit reading manifold pressure from the factory map sensor so no vacuum hose needed to run to the controller.

I have a V5 so its comes under the frontal impact laws in regards to air bags and not being allowed to cut anything from the front of the car.

The parts they want you to cut out of the way (under the passangers chassis rail next to the tow hook) to make it fit properly are actually illegal to cut, so when I went I went to get a LVV cert for my coilovers it failed. So I ended up having to buy a piece of chassis rail from a wreckers and get the part that I cut out re-attached, then had to get the intercooler pipe work modified to bend around it.

Cost me about $400 to fix it.

If you car doesn't have airbags you can pretty much cut what you want and they do fit quite well for a cheap kit. But after emailing them they basically told me they dont care

They swore that I was fitting my kit wrong. After so many emails and pic's finally back and forth they acknowledged that it wouldnt fit due to my factory oil cooler lines off the gearbox getting in the way.

After modding the pipes it fits.

Oh and if you look on the trademe auction they used my cars engine bay shot lol
