2002 GTB Legacy " version D " differences.

Hi all. Does anyone know of the changes made to the D version from the A,B,C ones. I just found out that my bonnet in the front where it drops down to the bumper and lights is shaped slightly different as I tried to put an Airplex bonnet guard on and it wouldn't fit. I would like to be prepared if something needs changing that I get the right one of whatever. Just curious at the moment as things are running sweet.

From what I can gather, the revision letters are to do with the engine revision rather then the body revision.

The body revision I.acedacelift changed the size and shape of the headlights which in turn is why bonnet and grille is different.

IN terms or body changes, they have a different bonnet (alloy), grill, front bumper, headlights, foglights and the sideskirts are alittle differnt. airplex should have a revised bonnet protector they are genrally pretty good.

Thanks for the replies. Yes you are right that you would of thought airplex would have had this version. They are now looking into it because they also realise their headlight protectors don't fit either.

Someone told me one day they'd seen an e-tune with a revision C engine so it pays to check.

Oh yeah, and as EJ20T says, the bodykit and bumpers and stuff are all different.

They're exactly the same, but totally different. Its not until you look into it that you realise how many differences there are.

There's also diffrences with the intake manifold pipes and lines and vac lines etc... I don't know how significant the differences are though, but do compare them and trace the pipes and lines and see if they match up alright.

Very different. New type ISC, MAP sensor on manifold, manifold shape is slightly different too.

As for bodywork differences, the Revision D or 2002-2003 model definately has the following;

Alloy bonnet

Different shaped bonnet

Slightly smaller grille

Longer gaurd liners and a slightly longer nose

Different bumper

Different fog lamps

Different head lights

Different gaurds (alloy maybe?)

Alloy front control arms

I also thought the revision was the whole model revision, not just the motor. As my wagon is a revision D and they never made a revision A 6 cylinder.

all GTB and RSK get alloy lower arms regaurdless of model revision. and yes it is a whole model revision. and yeah the earlyer model ABC's have a 8.5:1 CR. turbo D's love to pink, but its hard to say if thats a function of a higher CR or a over agressive ECU. you will find out i guess

No, autos get the 8.5:1, manuals are 9:1. Same engine regardless of A,B,C or D revision.

Auto = EJ206 = 8.5:1

Manual = EJ208 = 9:1

So, a revision D vehicle is the one to go for then yes?

Yes, for two reasons:

1) they're much better sorted so they drive better.

2) They're tunable... for $1500-$2000 someone like Torque Performance can fix up their tendency to ping and unleash some more power and it is invisible to Subaru, your insurance company etc that it has been touched.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

      Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
