  5. Phase 2 injectors can be de-capped and have been proven to flow enough fuel for 260kw. They flow roughly 550cc when de-capped. Similar to what non de-capped pinks flow. While you said you're not interested in a top-feed conversion, I have a alternative option which is a Rev D intake manifold, fuel lines, rails, pink injectors, and loom. It utilises the factory V5/6 throttle body and loom, so there's no re-wiring required. Simple bolt-on upgrade and then you'll have loads of injector head room.

  6. A straight pipe is illegal even if it is under the DB level. From the VIRM: Reasons for rejection: 1. A vehicle is not fitted with an exhaust system that includes a means of sound reduction (Note 1) (Note 6). .... Note 1: Exhaust system means a pipe assembly through which the engine exhaust gases pass to the atmosphere and includes some means of sound reduction such as a silencer or resonator. Note 6: (external wastgate stuff) https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/exhaust/exhaust-system A stock 05 STi is a tidy car, a turbo back straight pipe would be one hell of a way to change that. Just my 2c.

  7. @JGM I'd be really keen on getting my hands on your D2's provided they're still in reasonable condition. Could you flick me a message to organise that? I'm in Wellington but if you're able to ship them I'll pay shipping, that'd be awesome. Just had the wag tinted over the weekend and it's looking good so I'm really keen on getting the build moving - well.. acquiring some parts at least! I imagine if I'm not going low low then I should only need Legacy bumpstops to maintain a functional ride. Thanks guys for the advice on fitment and guard work etc. Sounds like it won't be too much of a struggle to get 8.75's under there. My E30 is the real drain on the bank account so the aim is to keep things simple with the Outback!
