  5. v5 ra... with a mitsubishi style kit http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-386229232.htm nasty
  6. i had tien progressives in my last car. loaded up hard cornering it was very firm, still drivable around town. everyone has to start somewhere!!
  7. You wont even get that close to the ground with lowering springs... maybe with adjusties.. +1, your strut towers are too long to still be effective, you'd be basically running on the bump stops, your struts would shag themselves.... 40mm is 4cm... stack a few mates into the back of your car as an indicator. look for progressive rate springs if your budget allows...
  8. v7 sti struts with v3??? sti wagon springs. sits the foz on its arse, handles nicely. unfortunately, only the fronts will fit in a legacy. im not sure of the best way to get a legacy closer to the ground bar lowering springs / adjustables. unless you contact (im guessing) somewhere like 41 automotive or similar and import some sti bits... $$$$$$$$!!!!!!!
  9. Oh nice! Dont those require certs? If it does, how much is the cert? yes, and about $500 iv aware of... Ouch.. That's $950 all up. =\ yeah, thats y i gave up on the idea of adjusties... for now.
  10. Oh nice! Dont those require certs? If it does, how much is the cert? yes, and about $500 iv aware of...
  11. oohh good luck with that, looks like a bit of fun.
  12. hahaha im an apprentice sparky, did the lowering myself. granted it was a bit easier as i did a direct strut swap. u'll need a decent spanner / ratchet set, a breaker bar, a set of spring compressors and a day if its your first time. diy, ftw. its not actually that hard, if you are somewhat mechanically minded and patient
  13. good luck with v7/ v8 sti gold's... they sell really quick
  14. my right rear one is knocking a little. but i think thats because i didnt put enough grease into it. easy fix
  15. hahaha yeah, i saw it...
  16. as you arnt altering the dimensions of the afm (size of the pipe, shape etc) i would say no, i think it may more be the ecu reset. please someone correct me if im wrong here?
  17. don't tighten it until you cant tighten it further, that's the easiest way to fry bearings. use the belt as a reference. pull on the belt / push on the belt a little. if its a little floppy / feels loose, tighten it until it feels firm. run the car for a minute or two, then re check the belt. tighten it again if you need to. over tightening will be an expensive nightmare, i guarantee it.
  18. yeah, i was thinking with what iv read about externals you could get it fairly flat... the td turbos drop off a bit too... im down to about 8psi towards redline, peaking about 14. but, iv got a manual controller at the moment, and im sure that isnt helping hahaha
  19. im sure you could keep it a bit flatter some how. there's bound to be a way to do it
  20. that wing is mean got walbro fuel pump in the post. wooho!!
  21. wowsers. reputation much???
  22. that and the curve in the door and the flow towards the front makes me think of Porsche. a old bc leggy would be a fun swap....
