  1. yeah i know bout the evap but he isnt evaportaing anything .? and hes not going to carry 5 gallons of water for the cooler and a another bucket load to spray on it . or did i not read it properly even jetboats with unlimited river water cooled intercoolers struggle to get below ambient temp the falling efficiency of temp exchange dunno . i am pretty tired from newyears mission . and i do think my HDI core was below ambient temp some days fk me the thread is 35 pages long . anyone read it ?
  2. i call bs at original post . how can the temp be lower than ambient ? no matter how much 30 degree air you blow over something 50 degrees its temp cant go below 30 can it ?

  6. yeah thats a bout going rate for that lot to get done . hes been honest and fair with you . any home mechanic could do new disks and pads on the front in bout an hour . and for under 300 in parts . for the rear just find someone wrecking anything with rear disks and bolt he whole lot on for like $100
  7. yeah they are good at that saw a gq patrol once the guy had put a dodge viper motor in it hooked to the standard nissan automatic . on the dyno it had 310 hp at the wheels . so that means the auto was converting at least 100kw of power into heat

  10. oh yep i was thinking bout it and had come to that conclusion pretty much i just unhooked the end of the actuator from the ecv arm . car went as lame as fuck . actually made no boost untill 5 k . looked under the hood and the arm had re attached itself to theactuator rod . ffs lol now its all good . i actually like it how it is now . maybe the auto and the small turbos is ok together it starts making boost at like 2.5-3k . not much because foot flat = kick down in the box so its hard to measure . but yeah it is like na spec from idle to 2.5 then reasonable pull from there on upwards . suits me better it was before . only hitting just over .5 bar . apparently 9 psi is stock for the auto. tempted to put a boost tap in 23 so i can get 11 or something
  11. whats your budget? forget the torque converter prolly best spent giving it all abig once over . filters oil plugs etc . then remove restrictions in the intake and exhaust to what ever level your budget allows
  12. yeah i thought as much was going on . so if it join it to my hose 8 there will be nothing goint to the 2nd waste gate and just use the primary one to conrtoll boost if i t it into it it will still see boost at the right time but will still controll the 2nd wastegate . might try both . going to see how it goes . its a shitty old auto with 250k on it and it might be better with slow then fast on the power band than a horrid mix of boost and vod lame shift points . and coz i like fiddling
  13. so on the bg5 #8 line goes to the actuator for the secondary turbo waste gate . so do i t #22 into #8 ? 22 and 16 currently go to the plastic piece on the outlet of the bypass valve

  15. i have a toda 4.5 kg flywheel and an exedy race spec 4 puk . would never go back to anything else you have a ra gearset so dont worry bout any "weaklink" stuff people mention . the ra gearbox have a wider 123 gear set and seem to handle a lot more abuse . maybe due to different tooth count/ profile just make sure what ever you get suits your driving style . if you know how to drive a puck you will be happy . if you try to drive a puck like a organic it will wear out in about 2 weeks . if you treat an organic like a puck it will last 1 launch . maybe a cousioned ceramic and higher clamp would suit you . maybe try drive a few peoples cars at events you get wgat you pay for tho . and by the time you waste 3 shit clutches your better off spending the $ for the right setup first

  17. kinked a fuel line in the process ? t a gauge in and make sure its got pressure under load
  18. so you have a 2 litre motor running on a ecu and fuel system setup for a 1.8 ? so its running lean as all hell hence the cat is redhot ?

  22. yeah cheers guys . i recon after 250 k of constantly going its prolly worn out .so im going to replace it yeah im pretty tempted to "upgrade" both but then id need to do the manifolds and the whole exhaust and the gearbox and the intercooler and blah blah . and thats what the ra is for, and the boat , and 3 motorbikes anyone recon its worth freeing up the exhaust and intake ?
  23. its just a sealed cartridge bearing . assume you can smack it out and get another one for like $8 . they will always feel notchy as they spend a long time getting vibrated over a very small range of movement if you can still spin it by hand id put it back in . it will have loose and tight spots as part of normal use . if its rusty and has play then replace it the ones i took out of my gc8 have 6302 rs on tthem and are koyo japan . so should be easy as to find
  24. nah its not hovercrft spec . yet lol . i dont think mine even spins at idle . didnt move any air at idle with ic off you can hear it spool up and down tho . kinda like a car with nothing infront of the turbo . but you shouldnt hear it with all the stock intake etc from in the car . will keep an eye out for another one . as an aside i do think it seized once before . years ago when mum had it . it did nothing on the primary so i took it for a rape and freed it up . lol like it could barely pul itself up the hill . couple of laps foot flat and it woke up
