  1. What are the downsides to getting struts rebuilt? Would I expect to get good life out of a rebuilt set?
  2. My impression was that equal length headers improved the torque curve? I love the sound of the Twin Scroll + VVTI + Full noise
  3. If you want the mods, then get a proper tune. Otherwise put it back to standard and put a standard ECU in it. Or........... try and tune it yourself, wait for it to run a bearing, then cry about the price of a rebuild and still need a tune?

  5. Why would ou even compare a Nissan straight 6 to an H4 motor. Anyone with half a brain, and could spend a little time reading actual facts before spitting dribble would know Subaru only went down the 2.5 route to meet emission standards in international markets. While incresased displacement does have its advantages, the 2.5 is still just a supporting act to the EJ20t. And you can harp on about potential all day, but unless you are talking power figures well north of 300kw@wheels, your arguement stands on shakey ground.

  7. Excellent, good to hear. So would that GTB E-tune2 be ok to run on 95 Octane? I have only run mine on 95 for the last 2 years and it is still sweet as.

  12. It's a bit hard to compare different tuners when you make them all use the same car - as all tuners have certain areas of expertise. - It's not like they marketed it as "The best (insert brand here) Tuner"
  13. Its got to be the tuner, you should of kept the mods and just had the factory ECU re-flashed. As long as it was done by someone with Subaru experience, you should have achieved better power, response and torque.

  15. I would expect chasing those power figures, the pulleys will be one of the last things to effect 'reliability' - thats if reliability and redicculous power figures can even be mentioned in the same sentence
  16. IMO you're on the money. I don't have any issues with them crushing repeat offenders cars, but think it should also include DUI and reckless driving. - I know there is alot of cars that I see getting around that I would love to see crushed. I believe it was going to happen eventually, so there's no point whining about it.

  18. I'm with you on this one. They have taken way too long to move on from their CDMA network. It's not likely I will be ditching vodafone for this, but I'm hoping it will make for more competitive pricing - Data in particular
  19. Im still happy with my twin turbo. While some people do outgrow their twin turbo's, there are alot that either don't know how to drive them, or expect to much from them.

  21. A good friend of mine had his V9 ECU reflashed at SpeedtechNZ with very good results. Base run (factory everything) got around 195kw@w. With full exhaust and panel filter in factory airbox and reflash it is up to 229.5kw@w - with a little more available with a good EBC and better boost control.
