  1. I believe he is talking about something like this --> http://www.iwsti.com/forums/vendor-announcements-project-buildups/246769-low-mount-turbo-kit-prototype-killer-b-motorsport.html Have never heard of subaru using them from factory though...
  2. I do and don\'t get where you are coming from.. With a decent oscilloscope program will i not be able to do exactly what the knock block does to analyse knock? I.e take a base runs across different frequencies, take a frequency that is measuring the most noise and use that to make a base line for engine noise. Then as I increase the advance I will be able to see areas that differ from the base line curve that had no knock? The only downside I can see from using this is that I will not have on the fly knock control happening via the ECU as it has no idea if it is detonating or not.
  3. Have tuned my car afr wise at the moment but still running v6 base ignition timing until I can sort something out to measure knock. Just came across this though http://www.instructables.com/id/Use-Your-Laptop-as-Oscilloscope/ and was thinking, would it not be an accurate way of measuring knock for like $20..? I dont know, your guys thoughts? Seems like any accurate knock detection equipment costs moonbeams!

  5. Gave my younger brothers GF2 a birthday, 4 new struts, new gear stick surround, and a interior door handle. Also on my GC8 got rid of the maf using a 75mm pipe i found at strongs and got rid of some redundant sensors. Also got some new radiator hoses from luxury sports nice thick silicone piping but the blue has made my engine bay look ugly i reckon :-\ need to tidy up some wire routing and stuff as well kinda need to pull it off the road for a week or so but im using it as my daily at the mo.
  6. This^, (also im pretty sure my 205 block is stamped "ej205") edit scratch that! haha could have sworn it did somewhere though.
  7. Also sounds like plugs might be fouled if you can smell fuel... my 2c Edit - Probably worth checking that you are getting vaccum whilst cranking as well. Found this - http://www.linnbenton.edu/auto/perform/no_start.html Seems you have ruled out the battery being flat but might be worth chucking a volt meter on there and seeing what voltage you are getting when cranking also.
  8. Where from man? And what colour? Am thinking about buying some!
  9. About to mount IAT into intercooler, will it be allgood if i use a 1/8 bsp pipe to tap the thread if the sensor is 1/8" NPT? i know it is just the difference in the thread angle between the two but have read that it will not seal properly? The thread on the IAT has thread tape and stuff on it, could i use like loctite or something to make sure it seals? or just use the right tap hahaha
  10. haha i was saying the one in the video is the titan one bro

  13. Have been talking to Simon from Link on the G4 Forum today and from what he has said i believe the USB chip in my G4 has failed. Will be doing a bit more stuffing around with the drivers etc.. to see if i can get it to work tonight but if not looks like i will be sending it off to get that repaired. Damn. Anyone know roughly what price i would be looking at to get that repaired? Also will i have to send it specifically to link to get repaired or can i take it to say a PC repair shop to replace it? Cheers
  14. Ahh... Just tried rolling back the drivers went through the whole list, no dice. Yeah think i will be giving Link a call tomorrow haha. Thanks for the input guys.
  15. Hey guys, Have already sent an email to the guys at Link just thought i would post this up here and see if any of you have any idea. Anyway, bought a link g4 off here a while ago, yesterday decided i want to have a look at the previous tune that was loaded on to it etc. Had downloaded PCLink ages ago done all the driver installs etc everything installed fine. So got on the laptop loaded up PCLink connected up ECU and as soon as do that i get - "USB Device Not recognized" More specifically it comes up with, Windows has stopped the device because it reported problems. (Code 43) Sooo.. im like wtf installed everything fine, following to the letter the freaking manual. Thinking that it still might be the drivers i go and uninstall all of the USB drivers which then reinstall themselves fine on the next boot, reinstall PCLink and drivers install fine and still coming up with USB Device Not Recognized. So the question is am i just being a freaking idiot and havent done something simple? Or something wrong with hardware on G4 or the PCLink Cable? If anyone has any input it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Max
  16. Vf30 is out of its efficiency range from 22psi up is it not? Lets see how long it lasts
  17. very nice thanks man spool time between them is maybe 100-200rpm and the vf22 feels like it has a bit more kick.
  18. Yeap what evowrx said they bolt up fine. New manifold gaskets are probably a good idea too
  19. Never was going to make it way too fast!! haha
  20. Have seen this driving around very cool car and sounds awesome too.
  21. As above. factory airbox can support high hp. If you are after induction noises just do a snorkelectomy. Plenty of info out there if you search dude
