  1. A Vf22 will pull 250 kw. DEcapping? will just flood it. Bigger injectors is the reliable way, Not ya boyracer way
  2. Its easy to achieve this 250kw as others have stated. Long term reliability is the key to success though. Sure this has been covered many times. My link below tells you what I did. 20K required. Here is another discussion with good facts too. Have fun, Good luck! http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,37819.0.html
  3. 2.9k for a shortie yes. Then 1.1 to remove old motor/heads refit heads and engine. Reasonable cost of ? $4k. Yes sounds about right.
  4. Dont bother unless you retune It WILL shorten engine life, Fact! see this http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,37920.0.html ;D
  5. LOl on this ref to SCOTTSPEED....Im seeing him Tomorrow 15/06 And I Talk to him at least weekly. David has spent a few $k with him though and I make sure his valuable time is not wasted ;D
  6. David Thexton had his engine in the rally car rebuilt for this seasons racing (Rally NZ) it over heated in dunedin after 3 km. Dwight Scott from Scottspeed Engines stripped it down and rebuilt it as he had supplied it. NO PROBLEMO We did have to remove and reinstall it though. But Hey Thats a warranty claim with no issues. He is a member on this site too! ;) SCOTTSPEED ENGINES Good Guy ;) ;)
  7. could you give us a better description, Wagon? colour? Easier to find amongst all the others out there
  8. Noted and will look out! Hope it returns to you in one piece.
  9. Might wanna step back from the electricity there fella :-[ Yes your diagram is fine, that\'s parallel - series means one after the other /quote] ive bean werking with electrical stuff for a few years. iknow what im doing. if i bother up. then i learn not to do that mistake again ;D Factory smoke may occur here. lol. Now to do the relay circuit so that the cmos relay in alarm circuit board is not overloaded. don\'t forget to put a fuse in the load circuit! ( Remember that I increases as more R is applied) (helps keep the smoke in!) The trigger circuit should be ok as it will only be loaded by the relay coil.( I is low as R is low too, V is constant) Im sure you will understand this as you have been doing electrics for a few years now.
  10. You reckon 8 minutes Funky? I reckon Nek Minit! As in one! lol ;D ;D But yes! you should get one dyno chart that will have a sudden drop off.! Ha,Ha! Only way to power up is as you say:- is to" pay up!"
  11. Wow! :o You have to admire the gauge setup on the dash A? $2500 ??? ??? Cheep! Cheep! ;D Just like the work thats been done . Super cheep! mods by ? Some one that Knows how to keep it low cost. LMFAO ;D ;D ;D ;D
  12. only if wired in series instead of parallel .good idea to use a relay circuit to prevent overload of alarm circuit board cmos relay too. ;)
  13. As Above pal ;) What you are seeking will not be achieved without good funds as Funky has kindly pointed out. If its 280 to 300 Kw that you are after $20K approximately will be required to achieve reliable operation. The "New" CDB you want to up grade will require good machining to achieve a hi spec (Blueprinting) so that hi powers can be run. ;D It a simple thing to do and achieve. MONEY is a requirement though.
  14. Ah Yes True! No good power will be had without good funding ;D
  15. To do this:- Do what I did. Build the bottom end for 600 hp. Then run it at 300. Reliability and good power/fun to be had. See my link below for details.
  16. Have heard that an in car siren is probably the best location. Damn hard to concentrate when its screaming. Best to make sure its located where you cant get at it to easily too. If the siren can be got at in less than a minute it will be silenced with a hammer usually. Have heard that these thieving bastards also drown them with water to. An Electric fence unit (12Volt) also works well in lieu of the siren or even inline with. LOL. Just dont touch the car when alarm is set!!...YAAAA! >
  17. So there was no defence in this Story then? ??? He just cant think of another tall story to tell us A? Least he has been outed. Now we know! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
  18. This is true As my ol man said to me one day "locks and alarms only keep honest people away" Thats why i decided on the wheel clamp. Then it fools people into thinking the car is in "trouble" anyway and leave it alone. Have to say it works well. Takes about 30 sec to fit, plus sticker on the window with removable adhesive. I always get to park close to a venue. As yet have not been discovered. Have had a few smiles when removing though and have been sworn at when fitting it too a few times :D Laugh!! You bet I do! ;D ;D ;D
  19. I went with what ichi ban said about max 240kw atw I didnt really see myself going further... Neil told me their single plate upgrade was good for 450w/kw. Mind you I dont know if hes just old or what because he quoted me a price then upped it $200 when I rung back a few weeks later just before I put it on the courier to him. I have no time for ditherers or rip offs or whatever game he was playing. People love their clutches some hate em but if anything goes wrong it sounds like it wasnt their fault regardless of circumstance. Dont think theyre short of work so they can be like that. Id second the "get the right clutch for it" movement. Yeah "get it right the first time A" Neill would have said 450 Hp not Kw Thats 337 Kw. But he may have realised his mistake and therefore up priced your enquiry to do a multi plate assembly probably. I could be wrong though. What I can say is all the clutches that he has done for me have been fantastic in both grip and foot feel without shudder.
  20. yes there is a considerable difference. In both the flywheel and pressure plate. I\'m not quite sure on the Clutch plate itself though But i think there is a diameter difference too.
  21. Now thats probably the most sensible statement yet! But still get the clamp force checked as being correct/ok/as stated.
  22. A wheel clamp is one of the best. I even got away with parking in a tow away area! lmao! ;D Mind you i think the sticker saying it was clamped for fines helped me out! You have to love those laser printers! :D :D
  23. It maybe ok! What i am saying is get it checked for clamp. Autoclutch advises that 3500lb is required to prevent 250kw slipping at all. ;) Above this Kw a multiplate system is advised. Im just passing on what i was told. Im not looking to argue
  24. that is entirely true! However as in my case it takes just under 6 seconds to require a up gear change from 3rd under wot and I would suggest others are also in this time zone or less. As i see it this occurs:- When you have your foot hard down and you are overtaking this 5-6 seconds passes so damn quick you may not notice the slip before you back off. In lower gears it may not even slip as the work required is less. The clutch will therefore slip (probably not spin away though) if it does not have sufficient clamp for Kw output when new. But it will drive well most of the time without slip. That is until the power comes on suddenly as in a quick downchange. Or its on the dyno being held back. Even then you probably will not notice it until it is real bad. i.e Clutch plate burnt/worn away and clamp has been diminished under say around 1800lb Tis easy to demonstrate but not easy to clarify on a bloody forum. Yes Funky. My mistake on that diff I did say that did i not? in my previous post. As i assumed a 6speed was being fitted NOT just a clutch. Agreed! :)
