  1. These cars have a known issue where the wiring enters the boot door. Maybe worth starting there. Could try solder the wires back together but there's a very likely chance the issue will return. Can buy the whole boot harness but thats a bit pricey. There's a walkthrough for the swap, should help identify where you need to get into even if you do just solder the broken wires. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/walkthrough-replace-wagon-wire-harness-238160.html?t=238160&highlight=Wagon+wiring And a discussion thread for the issue http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/wagons-beware-tailgate-electricals-161086.html
  2. They are named differently but the engine itself will essentially be the same. EJ20y and EJ20x. its a TD04 not 05 in the older ones too. But 2007 models have the same for both. Map is obviously very different between the two. Is this in relation to swapping an engine or just wanting considerations for what model to go for? There's also some EJ255 models out there too.
  3. Used the standard strength F2 last time which didn't really work out. May have been a bit frugal. Might just try get their F2 ultra strength version
  4. After a contact adhesive that will endure the heat inside the car over summer for wrapping pillars. Originally used ados stuff that we use at work but its starting to peel up in places so don't think its coping all that well.
  5. Not sure what they're called, Doesn't have a translation for that row on the plate. Its the digits in the top right hand corner of the vin plate.
  6. Brothers wanting to sell my old Legacy and get something a bit more economical. His budgets pretty low so have been looking into the possibility of getting something from Beforward like Boon recently did. Question is, does anyone a clue what cars can and can't be registered in NZ? I know the ones with TA can't but is there some form of definitive list out there somewhere that that lists what ones can and also includes other brands? Been scrolling through it for a few weeks now and there seems to be some damn good stuff out there.
  7. Shamelessly stolen from the Auckland/Christchurch crew. Figured it was time to start a Tauranga/surrounding BOP area tag car photo game. Seem to be getting a few more BOP members showing up on the forum recently, and need an excuse to drive the car a bit more often, She's been getting out very rarely these days. Here's how it works: You drive some road that you think other members should be driving Find a spot on the road that is identifiable Take a photo with your car in the shot Other members have to take a picture of THEIR car in that spot The first member to find the spot is next. Will try get a pic done this weekend if someone else doesn't have anything good to start with before then.
  8. Think these ones are what you're after for your wagon Front: ST2033021000 Rear: ST2038021020
  9. Its all rather confusing ordering them. Which ones you need isn't as clear cut as it should be. This list is a bit clearer than what you get on the japanparts site. Which doesn't use Subaru part numbers just to make it even harder List is half way down that page http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27480
  10. Yea i don't doubt local could be way cheaper. Just gotta find the right guys. You know of any good ones in TGA?
  11. Yea i've seen them. Their mids are crazy too. But damn they look awesome with dual piping for the whole mid section.
  12. Yea, still way over 1k if you count the import tax. Can you still slip through that these days or do they check everything? I've been lucky a few times in the past and they haven't pinged me for it. Would still be looking at a touch below $1300. Before import duties Still way cheaper than the jap alternatives. The K2 quadtips go for $1800 just for axlebacks, now thats absolute madness.
  13. Been looking around for cheaper prices for the Invidia catback. Found its about $500 cheaper sourcing it from Invidia Australia rather than any of the US dealers, thats including import duties.
  14. There any chance of fitting a varex muffler somewhere in the mid section?
  15. Yea i get that side of it, just really thought it would want to overboost like crazy with that backpressure removed. Guess logging whats going on is the only surefire way to see.
  16. It seems to be boosting less if anything, but trying not to push it untill i have time to do some logging.
  17. How much more whooshy whooshy sounds should there be with a catless downpipe? Currently its alot louder than i was expecting it to be so not sure if its normal or whether i've missed something. Have gone over most of the connections on the intake side and haven't come across anything not tightened yet
  18. Thanks to you. Hadn't even realised there was one sitting around in TGA
  19. Or just burned to the ground to finish it off
  20. Installed the STI front lip today. Loving The look so far.
  21. Why not just save up for the raptor supercharger if funds are tight but want a bit more fun. Should give a decent bump in power. Virtually no custom fab work required unlike a turbo conversion which will escalate rapidly if welding things yourself is out of the question.
