  1. Being a facelift model yours will have a vf44 or vf45 rather than those other two. Both seem to be ballbearing turbo's with no known differences. Was recommended to stick to 15-16psi unless an aftermarket downpipe is used.
  2. Will be. Don't really have the space to keep storing stuff currently. Think gettiing them to chch may be a bit steep though.
  3. Have no idea what bits like this are worth to people so figured I'd see what peeps here think. All from 4th gen Legacy GT pre facelift 2 x rear trailing arms, alloy version 2 x rear speed sensors, guess that's what they're called. With plugs still attached 2 x rear hub assembly 2 x front hub assembly 2 x front knuckle
  4. Never heard of the plug behind the dash. But never really looked for other options with mine, just did the quickest DIY job I could come up with. I just tee'd my defi controller wires into ones going to the stereo. Easy one for finding what colour wires do what, and they're all right there next to each other. Then put the controller on the tray in the top of the glovebox.
  5. How loose should wheel bearings be to turn by hand with wheels and axles removed? Think the set i've got here are sweet since they all seem to have a similar resistance but its just a bit stiffer than i was expecting
  6. Got all excited to finally do the brake swap, got as far as removing the lug nuts before realising the damn splined adaptor for locking nut has gone walkabouts. Best way to ruin a good day..
  7. Are the fronts and sub the stock mcintosh ones? And run off the stock amp? If you don't have the mcintosh HU why not just pull the whole lot out and replace all the speakers and get a cheap aftermarket amp. Way cleaner that way. The mcintosh system only sounded good because everything was well matched, as soon as you go chopping and changing speakers that ballance will go right out the window.
  8. Not 100% on impreza's but their legacy's have quite a few different body pieces too since they have meatier bumper beams also btw.
  9. Its been a while so its a bit hazy but i'm pretty sure i had the same issue at first. In the ecu menu up top go to select vehicle type then give a few of the different subaru options a go to see if one of them works. Did you download learning view and see if that gave you the ecu id?
  10. Do non directional tyres have left and right versions? just wondering since the design will fit very differently between many for left and right
  11. Why not considering v9? Externally almost the same as v8 but gets the way better looking interior.
  12. Easy enough to do yourself if you can get hold of a tactrix cable. Just a matter of pulling the rom, deleting those codes in ecuflash, then saving the new rom back to the ecu. Sure there will be someone nearby that has one. Thats the list of codes that need disabling based on one of the lgt.com vendors doing a how-to * P0410 * P0411 * P0413 * P0414 * P0415 * P0416 * P0417 * P0418 * P0419 * P2431 * P2432 * P2433 * P2441 * P2444 And there's your code explanation list http://www.bedug.com/pics/Subaru/obdcodes.txt
  13. Thats a damn good price right there as long as its mechanically sound. Heated seats aren't all that great. Only ever used mine a couple of times. Certainly shouldn't be a deal breaker atleast, they don't come up looking that nice for that cheap often. Depends if they want to go for the turbo route or stick to the 3.0r
  14. It was a good stereo but without bluetooth/aux/usb it really was hopeless for anything other than cd's. Some 07/08 models can have aux installed though. It is possible to use the mcintosh with aftermarket HU's but its not the simplest of installs. Yea 6-speed manual. Haven't tried an auto one so can't comment on how they drive.
  15. SI drive has its moments but isn't all that revolutionary. Always have mine in S#, but fuel economy isn't a factor for me since I don't drive it every day, and thats for a GT-B. Personally i'd stay away from the mcintosh. Has almost no connectivity and makes putting in an aftermarket headunit alot harder. Easier to get one with the base stereo and just put a better unit in.
  16. In the same situation most people go down to 225/40/18
  17. What roms have you been trying? Had a crack just now and all except A4SHB00H seem to load but have very few tables that can be altered. Not fully completed definition files maybe.. Go here and download A4SHC00G, just click the number, then try running in ECUFlash. if that doesn't open correctly then there is something not quite right with what programs have been installed. http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7591 Also try download learning view and run that with just the test mode connectors connected, may not need the other ones connected when only reading. That will give you the ecu id and rom id for your ecu.
  18. Probably the same telemekas i'd say. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=27401 They make it look like that connector should be right next to it. http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/ConnectingToYourECU
  19. By flash connector are you meaning the black ones that kind of look like the test connector ones? Needs the exact definition file to work. Even if you have another definition file for an identical car it'll still be looking for the id the file lists. Do the hex files you've got state the ecu id they belong to?
  20. You looked into whether they can be tuned with a tactrix? Had a look the other day but seem to be lots of threads with people trying but never getting very far without definition files. And for heatpumps, don't get a Hitachi, sure they're cheap but they are a seriously inferior product compared to most other reputable brands out there.
  21. What year is the one you're looking at? NZ new or import?
  22. If you're only planning on tuning it once you're still looking at 500-600 for an e-tune. Only really pays for itself when future tunes come about
  23. Best just to ignore that little readout when driving a subaru:/ My van gets 8.5L/100km, fully loaded, weighing in at 2400kg and is driven with my foot to the floor 90% of the time since its so under powered, don't understand how thats even physically possible.....
  24. From his profile pic you'd say its a BH legacy so yea they are the same for GT/GTB. They do differ between manual/auto and do have some changes through each year of the BE/BH generation though.
