  1. Sucks to hear man. Thats a pretty bull**** policy by avs. You get a system like that for peace of mind, not to spend your time worrying about checking its still operating correctly. Been considering just gettig a cheap gps phone wired in behind the dash somewhere and having it send data back to the network pc at home. Not that legacy's are so high up the theft listings. Don't have a whole load of faith in my alarm system. Don't think the guy who did it really knew how to do it in newer cars so has never worked quite the same as the one in the old leggy.
  2. Turbo back exhaust and a tune. Assuming stock downpipe isn't a bellmouth one like the newer ones are
  3. Yea had seen that. Get the feeling it was ending at the end of may though. Hoping they'll give me a good deal anyway since it'll be fitting, ballancing, allignment, removing the old tyres and maybe giving the brembo rotors a skim before i fit them too
  4. Try remove the battery then get in behind that panel and make sure the connector is properly connected. And might as well check all fuses just in case. But other than that if your not confident testing wiring then maybe taking it to an auto sparky is the best bet
  5. Yea yours don't look all that stretched adikt, noticeable, but not enough to look out of place. A taller sidewall will make it seem even less. Gonna have a chat with the guys at bridgestone tomorrow and see what the going rate is for the re003's, imagine they could be quite steep for a recently released tyre. If they're too extreme i'll just stretch the current ones on there.
  6. Knockoutgiant has 225s on his 8.5s an they don't look stretched at all so can't see 10mm less making much difference at all. Just don't want to get pinged for it. Is the lvvta stuff set in stone or kind of a loose ruling that can be swung a bit. Ratio is where the problem is not width alone.
  7. Looking for peoples thoughts on this. Not a fan of tyre stretching at all but don't really want to waste my current set of tyres as they all have a fair bit left in them. Wouldn't get much for them 2nd hand. Ideal setup will be 235/40/18. Looked on the lvvta site and it states that 215s are legal for a 40 and 35 ratio trye but not a 45. Does that come down to the taller sidewall not supporting itself very well when not vertical? Stanced out guys seem to go for way way more stretch than this but i guess it comes down to the lower ratio. http://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/infosheets/LVVTA_Info_01-2009_V2_Tyre_Size_to_Wheel_Size_Compatibility_Guide.pdf
  8. Checked engine bay fuses aswell? Blew a fuse in there on mine once. Same symptoms where hazards work but not when using as indicators
  9. Na, super overpriced Alcantara. Damn does it look good though
  10. Na had a look just before too and didn't show up anything really other than a yellow pages link
  11. Not sure on injector cleaning but PF Automotive have a really good name. Their pricing is quite high since they do focus on not so stock/motorsport cars, but have been much happier going to them when i've needed something done i couldn't do myself than other places around
  12. What a muppet. Surely turners knows better than that.
  13. Did they charge you for new ones?
  14. Good point. Can't go too big if you choose the right drill bit. Was thinking of a much cruder method
  15. Most likely. If it goes down as you drive then yea. Here's the english setup someone found me when i was sussing out my dash. Cleared up all the stuff i wasn't completely sure on http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?43449-Translation-for-JDM-dash
  16. Interesting. Its not often you hear about ej20's having those problems, guess the americans excessive whining about ej255/7 failures covers up the ej20 problems. Suppose the ej20x/y will be just as likely to have the same problems.
  17. Didn't think there was a way to change it without changing the cluster. Annoyed me at first too but once i figured out what each reading on the screen meant it wasn't so bad. Most of it is pretty easy to nut out
  18. i can actually hear rear interior panels in mine moving ever so slightly when going up my awkward driveway
  19. http://avscarsecurity.com/product/ultrasonic-sensor/ So do avs alarms have glass break sensors? Had always thought that thing on the dash was a mic that pics up the tone of glass breaking. Never really looked into it at all though
  20. Alrighty. Just after the KCA399 rear control arm camber bush but i'll see how it works out locally
  21. Can you get all whiteline stuff evowrx or just certain bits?
