  1. Na unfortunately not, i'll be in the 'Naki on sat for family stuff. Prob easier if someone else going down for grasskhana takes it then if your going to that too. Failing that i'll try fit it in though if it's ready.
  2. I'm heading that way this friday Brad, just not sure if i'll have the room yet. I'll know closer to the weekend how much spare room i'll have.
  3. Won't it just be running on wastegate pressure? edit: by running a short length of hose directly between the nipple on the compressor outlet and the nipple on the wastegate actuator
  4. Haha anyone else got a BG on 20's, the way the trend seems to go here you'll probably own a Spec C afterwards haha :
  5. Easy to say AFTER you edited your post. gazzy2000 made the same comment about them not being STi v4. :P I never edited it, unless someone else did (does it not come up with 'edit' at the end of the post anymore or something to say whether or not it has been edited?). But anywho if it was wrong before it was meant to say V5 and does now.
  6. I know, that's why I said it was in a V5 STi...
  7. Yea their not toooo bad MOST of the time. I've had good and bad experiences with them really. It took them just over a month to fit a new V7 Block to my car a few years back (block was there ready to fit and had the old block out in 3 or so days). However 1000kms later when it blew again they did get it going again in about 3 days (warrenty job) They also thought that it was fine to run my car on 95octane
  8. Wonder how hard it would be set it up so it won't start in gear/only start in neutral. Rather then needing the clutch in to start...
  9. Yes it leaves a nice big dent in the roof when the latch breaks and the vent flys backward grrr. Now the gf has learnt the hard way that you must hold the handle firmly when opening it and don't do it at 100kmh lol
  10. Refrigeration Altered?
  11. Yup 'Link' do a wire in version, got one myself the other day. Way easier then what your about to attempt, specially if your going down the Aftermarket ECU road anyway. http://www.linkecu.com/products
  12. If only it was GC8 and had a DCCD display :-[
  13. You mean EZ30? About this much... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Subaru/Engines/auction-247580145.htmhttp://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Subaru/Engines/auction-246426419.htm There not EZ30R's though, you would expect to pay a bit more then that for the "R's", but it all depends on who you know.
  14. So maybe some of this http://www.drivenperformance.co.nz/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1487 where the intercooler piping goes over the turbo? ??? Wonder if it works ???
  15. So have you replaced the Neutral switch yet? You may find this is the only problem. I got the ICV engine light a while back, turned out the Neutral switch was faulty which was setting it off. Now problem solved.
  16. Weak gearboxes and drivelines?? The 6speeds are a heck of alot stronger then the older 5speeds. Syncros maybe giving up over time but still a strong box.
  17. Yup I did the same. Push toward the front of the car and the back will be able to pop out. This was on a V5 WRX
  18. There will be a hell of alot of wiring to get the ver7 engine to run in a gc8 using ver7 loom. Better off getting a wire in Link G4 an making up a new loom. Some differences are Ver7 has AVCS Heads and GC8's don't, so quite a bit of wiring there. GC8 has wasted spark (well my v5 does anyway), and if ver7 is same as Ver8 (?) then it has Coil On Plug so there is some ignition wiring there too. But if your up to all the wiring a Ver7 loom could be used in a GC8. But it's a huge mission.
  19. Keep ya old one it has more fuel in it hehehe Nice work man thats some serious time and dedication. Will look way nicer when your done.
  20. I got mine through a Broker up here who put me through NZI. It's $900 per year, but the excess varys quite a bit depending on alsorts of things, max is like $1000 IRRC. Not to bad really I thort, oh and I'm 20. Was roughly the same amount last year for me.
  21. The Link G4 as WRXER mentioned definitely beats the Power FC hands down. But if u can get a Power FC at $650 thats alot cheaper then a new Link G4 at $1800 :-\
