  1. umm hmm what model year are you talking about? this isnt valid across all models, and can't be valid for any one model go here and have a look http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html
  2. ah yup can do send me pickup details with haste please i leave on thursday and only have 1 free day before then. oh if its not needed asap then ray can deliver for you i'm sure
  3. to preserve lolz i have split and locked the rubbish and left it in off topic.
  4. yeah lol either the wire has perished or its cracked from heat fatigue. buy new or a nice clean looking one with a supple wire from the wreckers also get a 2nd opinion on everything that mechanic tells you
  5. i'll look for some more pics, and effective, u can decide when u see the crud they fill up with :-X not as much a problem with newer engines i suppose, less blowby etc
  6. found some old pics of my attempt. basically some tubular al. all dressed up and drilled/tapped. no, i don't have a lathe.. i have hacksaw, files and some sandpaper. it took me forever. vapour output taken from the crank breather / manifold valve junction and fed into top of can. return comes from the side of can above the filter and goes to preturbo intake. err ill draw a pic at some point oil/muck/water release from bottom of can thats how i've done it anyhow. works fine, when i remember to empty it!! i would probably make it longer next time
  7. ah well that'll make it easier to tell if its our forum specific or the server. good job funky, i know you where stressing out there for a moment when it went down ;p haha
  8. interestingly i have found that the GT throttlebody is small compared to the GTB 206kw one, which uses the same unit found on sti wrx's basically legacy with yellow injectors has the sti larger diameter throttlebody, so i've found at the wreckers anyway
  9. the quad cam 2.2 from the early legacy RS (at least i think it was quad cam) packs a reasonable amount more torque than the 2.0 quad cam. well it surprised me at least. random question, does your hx have a rear sway bar? or did you fit your own
  10. well for starts you should have a VF23 in that V3 STI. if not then you actually have a V2 chassis
  11. oh yeah.. sorry, obviously that'll need a little more than a chunk o wood to fix... god speed the repair
  12. heh yes i believe he meant upgraded sti sway bars along with everything else on the s401
  13. i pulled my out of shape rear bumber off the other day, got a block of 2by4 and a large hammer and beat the boot tray/wall back into shape. (it was all pushed in, the spare tyre wouldn't fit) the licence plate holder was pretty much flat, gave that some rough love and its all come right. hit the bumper with some white spray paint and its sorted. ill get a new bumper one day, but i'm fine with it.. certainly looks a lot better than it did.
  14. Thanks subieboy for summing that up. a little contradictory don't you think? lol go lookup the s401 and rephrase heh
  15. im just gonna throw this out there.. i'm looking at a japanese subaru issued legacy wagon brochure, and it seems that there are only 2 TT models GT-B E-tune II (manual or sports shift auto) GT (auto only) all the bits and bobs like spoilers etc are options. although some options are restricted to certain models. seems to me, that these cars are either GT's or GT-B's which are all E-Tune II's- at least in this year. (expects flaming from everyone who has a GT-B without a etune badge...)
  16. yeah i sympathise. i was rear ended while stopped at an intersection earlier this year. (after 4 mental day/nights of rebuilding, painting and prepping for a car expo i was entering and at the time driving to) not cool.
  17. not sure about your 12, i wouldnt worry about it, but 24 is your idle control. its probably gunked up, common problem. grab a can of upper engine cleaner and blast it with engine off then running. post up asking how to clean your idle control valve, someone may make a how to.
  18. theres no debate.. just lots of different models, and lots of small things GENERALLY on your usual STI these things are upgraded from the WRX model rev limit boost ignition timing engine internals throttlebody intake pipework intercooler and pipework turbo injectors clutch flywheel gearbox ratio gearstick throw differentials halfshafts chassis stiffening engine/gearbox mounts strut brace suspension bushings swaybars and links shock absorbers springs ride height alloy rims brakes inside/outside trim level seats window tints exhaust hmm some things still depend on the model and year. then ther's wrx-ra sti-ra and the type r's... then all the limiteds short answer - if you can afford it, get the sti
  19. so i'll see you on the Ruapuna track then? easter sunday. entries close march 20th
  20. http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp tyre size calculator
  21. randomly Ray's v5 seems to open up more than my V2
