  1. its kinda like the anti freeze debarcle. ppl dnt realize its not only anti-freeze and anti-boil its anti-corosive AND most anti freeze loses its anti-corossive properties after a 3-5 years (depending on quality) so your alloy internals are no longer protected if its never changed. Then ppl say "ohh they always crack heads" and its like durrr no sh1t! the car is still running the original jap anti-freeze from 12 years ago (or what ever) and the alloy has simply coroded away. its all about proventive maintenance aye, theres a reason for everything.. certain vehicles that are renound for cracking heads?? meh! should have changed the anti-freeze when the car was imported dopey!! lol
  2. yea i have done that b4 its prolly worth mentioning that if any vehicle has had regular oil changes for its entire life with high spec oil that the build up of sludge is prolly not going to be an issue. so yea, if i am unsure of a cars service history i always do engine flush treatment for the first 2-3 oil changes. prolly dont hv to do it every oil change
  3. STP http://www.caraccessoriesandsoftware.co.uk/stp-engine-flush-450ml---half-price-61-p.asp
  4. i use STP brand from super crap auto, always have done. never had any issues. think its about $15. instructions on the back of bottle/container
  5. cleaning/checking banjo bolt filter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZFLNjErfKc&feature=relmfu
  6. the filters in oil feed banjo bolts on turbo cars (In My experiance) will only ever gunk up n block starving the turbo of oil if the car has hardly been serviced. If you run some good engine flush before regular oil changes i cant see them causing issues. I have a tiptron BP & i rest easy knowing i service it well. engine flush is made to eat any gunky/sludge shyte in your engine incl built-up crap in a banjo filter

  12. A leak down test wud tell all then
  13. could be an air lock.. whereby components in the engine where the air is get real hot and when cool water does actually flow past it it boils instantly.. which is especially true when u remove the cap as this can make water flow properly into/past the airlock and as it does the water instantly boils blows it out the cap. makes u think its H/gasket. So bleed system properly first i.e. jack front of car as high as poss etc
  14. dont take any aircon advice from him though FFS LOL
  15. yea wrong oil can cause this, i\'d try it first, also i know its obviuos but just make sure you the same profile tyres on and/or that they are evenly worn. this is the stuff you want from http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,14965.0.html
